🚨PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: Telegram SCAM 

I’m 60+ so telegram to me is something totally different! 🤣. I had to look it up to see what you were talking about 😊. These new tangled thingies I dunno.

This is happening across loads of RU-vid cooking channels.

Thanks for the information. I did get a message from this scam. Of course I did nothing as I didn’t believe it.

Scammers? Some people's kids... Imagine what scammers could accomplish if they used the energy they expend to bake bread. :)

Well done Jack, you are one of the only content creators actually addressing this issue. Proving that you do listen to your community, and will speak up about the scammer that are exploiting the shortcomings of the Google/RU-vid platform.

That happened to me!!! A 2-door bread oven and a kitchen aid mixer! It sounded amazing! Red flags: 1) He replied to my telegram message with Hello and nothing else; 2) He replied to me at 4:30am UK time (I'm in the US); 3) Never asked if I needed a 110 or 220V; 4) Shipping that oven to the US would cost more than the oven itself; 5) Giveaways are usually mentioned in videos, as a big deal, but no videos ever mentioned it.

There is only one “Bake with Jack”. 😁

"Free baking stuff..." Yup, I was tempted, had to remind myself to contact the apparent donor (you!) for myself via your website 🙂 but hadn't got around to it before I saw this. Thing is, I'd be very happy to report it to You tube, but it only shows on my Notifications drop down and there's no report function available on there. If you can suggest a way to set about it I'll cheerfully have a go!

Any popular channel is getting hit - can you set up a block against the word "telegram"? I've seen it on Sysman's yacht channel, an American rancher's channel, woodworking channels ... just bots crapping all over.

I don't know of any larger RU-vid channel that doesn't have at least one scammer troweling through the comments spamming their scams.

You know you made it on youtube when you are bewing used by scammers lol. And it's not "a person" it's a whole bot network that hits thousants of chanels. you can get them banned but they instantly just make another account.

I had one of those reply to my comment & reported it. Tried to report the channel for impersonating you but bloody RU-vid said your channel didn't exist. 🤨

I'm brand new to this channel, and I'm an American. When I read the title of this video, I thought people were sending telegrams to your subscribers with some phony stories. Telegram as a platform never occurred to me. Anyway, good luck on that front. I'm looking forward to your new content! So far, I enjoy watching you cook, and learning new ideas.

There are hardly any channels that don't have these scumbags present. Any time anyone makes a comment on a channel, they do this nonsense. You would think RU-vid would be a bit better at stopping them. It's sad that we live in a world where we have to be on guard at all times, but, it is what it is. Thanks Jack. Take care, be well
