Those surveys annoy me. We need it all, why make us pick and choose. I also think it's a shame that they didn't make a free kit full of classic items from previous Sims games. It's not like EA can't afford to do it. It's lazy.
I agree 1,000%! It would be NOTHING to them to actually give the players some free dlc celebrating the game's birthday.. Hell, a KIT would have been nice but they can't even do that.. What happened to monthly SDX drops that they promised us themselves?? 😑 On a serious note, we need MAJOR bug fixes and they're still scratching their ass as usual..
when you celebrate the bare minimum all you will get is the bare minimum. EA will never change what they are doing because people will go above and beyond to celebrate features that should have already been in the game. idc what anyone says, its upsetting that this was all we got. it would have made more sense to include vitiligo in the skin tone update that we got a long time ago.

The Sims 4/Maxis/EA team has "slapped " us in the face Multiple times. It's one disappointment after another and this has been going on for several years. I've had enough. It's time for all of us to stop giving them money and make them ponder on their Multiple disrespects towards us customers. Period.
I'm backing you up, but are others? And if so, are there enough to make a difference? We need (if not everyone) the majority to stand up by not buying content for this game. I know it's cliché, but for the majority to stop purchasing content or merchandise from this company will make a difference - it really will. But there's A LOT of players who will keep buying the packs and keep buying the merchandise because they "have to have it". And what's even crazier, are the people who keep buying TS4 content and expecting it to work! (Over and over and over again) It's literally insane! The majority of players are well aware of EA's track record and yet they STILL keep contributing towards the problem! I'd like to think that many players could stand up with those who want to make a difference by not buying anything.. but it just doesn't look like that's going to happen unfortunately. I get it, the game is so lackluster that any kind of content "feels" like it's expanding the game's experience that it has to offer. But what's the actual sum of it all? A new wallpaper to put in the kitchen? A new outfit to dress your Sim in? A new skin tone? It's nothing and it adds nothing. The game lacks so much character, depth, chaos, consequences etc. - the list goes on. In conclusion - because the game lacks in so many ways, any little bit of content seems like it really matters when it really doesn't and many players don't see it that way. It would be nothing for players to play other games in the meantime but they won't. We'll just keep getting expensive packs that are full to the brim with bugs and players will keep paying for it. Anyways, really long reply, I know. But I'm with you on not buying anything from EA. 🙂
My issue is I want IN GAME content, not random nonsense outside of it - like that's fantastic and exciting and I hope that they do more and don't take it as though we don't want or appreciate real life aspects however when you ignore the ACTUAL game and those who play it, it comes across as disingenuous and that they don't care and is probably a major issue why people feel like its not enough or that the Sims is being lack luster...which they are and constantly seem to struggle to meet expectations as their idea is to give us either nothing or mediocrity
Did simmers forget about the lack of bug fixes, information, and updates that The Sims 3 got when the studio decided to focus on TS4? The state they released Island Paradise and Into the Future? Filled with bugs that only some mods managed to fix the mess they released? This is the same thing, that is what is happening. TS4 is on a skeleton crew and being left as an afterthought. They only said both would be supported to keep people buying until they are ready to announce Project Rene EA or release date.
So....Its Black History Month, 24th Anniversary, and 10 years of the Sims 4, and they use THE WINNIE HARLOW, As a sacrifice to the Simmers they lowkey robbed for the past Decade?! Are we gonna forget they screwed up the Bonnet and Robes last time for BHM SDX drop? Lets not forget We never got anything food wise or more cultural items for BHM, but a simple cosmetic Sdx drop. Even though Black Modders and Simmers have been CARRYING for Sims 4 FOR YEARS! ALSO ITS THE LUNAR NEW YEAR THIS MONTH AND WE GOT NOTHING?! Even Animal Crossing got us 3 Dishes, Moon carpet, Cute Dragon Statue, New Art! And STILL REMEMBERED THE SUPER BOWL! Smh
It's always good to have representation! Especially for younger Simmers who are still finding themselves. And I'm happy for people who wanted this option but couldn't use CC. My only issue is that Winnie Harlow is a famous model. So they could have added more stuff in their collaboration with her. Like model stuff? Beauty stuff? Glam stuff? But more stuff in any case. Obviously, I don't think it's her fault.
I play The Sims since I was 5 years old, I do love these games... But at this point, I do hope that games like Paralives and Life by You will destroy this franchise. They showed us by years, that they don't care about this game and the playerbase. Since Snowy Escape It's been better, but it will never be good enough. This game needs major gameplay overhauls, not new packs or content. And this new Anniversary SDX drop... Great that we now have more skin details, but it was just an ad for influencer.
Hearing this update came from a survey with things we still don’t have have in game I feel in addition to vitiligo we should of gotten the option to give our sims different eye colors or something two features are better than one. Also doesn’t seem like a birthday drop on the other hand I’m happy this update works.

I know people want more in game that is in their own lives but I know no one that ask for this fix the game give a place for people with base game a place to swim like a beach or pond river something the last few drops were nothing anyone I know wanted in them . Im really not happy I have most packs but so many dont have anything but base game do better EA
I love the vitiligo update alot. But it's true that for a celebration update it's lackluster. And with the polls they do, I'm afraid that the next two kits are the ones that didn't win from thay community poll from like last year 💀I won't lie, I do some of the kits but it gets annoying that they're trying push them out and make them like, the new standard for Sims 4
I want an actual bakery lot type where you have to bake in house and take custom orders which can be sent off through the mailbox. So you can cater for weddings and birthday parties. Also the bakeries should have exclusive items that can only be ordered or made in the bakery. Like five tier cakes for example cannot be made at home. I just really really want to have a bakery and putting bread in a display case just doesn't cut it for me. 🤦🏽
I am so happy that there is more representation in the game and this time is it vitiligo.😄 Personally I don’t know anyone who has it, but still, that the Sims 4 "catchphrase" is 'Play with life', representation is very important. Everyone should be able to make themselves. One last thing. I agree that this 24th anniversary celebration is not very fun. Honestly, I am a little bit skeptical and worried about the Sims 4’s 10th anniversary this year.😰
I want a world in the game similar to Henford but with dirt roads, no billboards and towering buildings. I want it to look old fashioned. Somewhat medieval. Great for those of us who don't play in the modern era.
The thing that irritates me the most about the sims 4 is the lack of genetics. All of the added overlays are nice, but I would have much rather seen these added as genetic possibilities like in real life. The sims 2 had way better genetics and traits could skip a generation. The sims 4 is just a mix of the parents. They could have added a toggle feature that allows vitiligo, freckles, birth marks to be passable traits so that it feels more realistic. Don't get me wrong. I like the capability to customize it but they stay missing the mark and giving half features. I'm really hopeful that the newer life sim games take note of this and implement this in their games.
To all the peoples saying well why do yall expect so much from an anniversary. Most people wouldn't be as hard or dissatisfied with EA if they didn't market it as a big celebration. Most of the sims problem literally just come from how dishonest the marketing team is.
I still feel people should come together and BOYCOTT EA, cause this is getting ridiculous. They cannot keep getting away with this and sooner or later all of this shxt will come back and bite them (hard).
Once Paralives and Life By You drops, EA can hang it up lol... You'd think they'd get it together by now after seeing all these life sims being announced. After seeing their game get dragged in every comment, you would seriously think they would make the effort to try and keep their community happy.
I think this new sdx drop is nice and makes me want to make new sims! Since this is a new week I don’t consider this having anything to do with the 24th anniversary. I will say I thought there would have been more with how they made it seem. I am not rushing them for bug fixes because they need to take their time to fix it.
to me what the sims team is doing is described by the following mental pictures: EA is just sleeping on a reclining chair from Sims 2 meanwhile life by you, Paralives and InZOI are sneaking up with gasoline to finally end this but then Sims sleepwalks grabs the canisters full of gasoline and with open eyes takes a gasoline shower the others run away before EA decices to light a cigar and we all know whats about to happen now... if you didnt get what I am saying its basically the sims destroying themselves meanwhile other game studios take advantige by which I mean Paralives dropping their promising trailer while this chaos is going on by which I mean go go Paralives go go!
I can’t even play my game and I’m on console 🥺 the glitches are so bad my sims don’t complete any tasks and get stuck in place constantly. 1 sim household mind you I can’t even imagine how it would glitch with my bigger households

I was one of those long time simmers who used to buy EVERYTHING! But after seeing the lazy kits (mostly recolors with OUTDATED clothing and styles from the 2010’s) and Wedding Stories being unplayable and now hearing about For Rent being broken (I waited to buy it, Thank God!), I’ve now stepped away and am happily playing Baldur’s Gate 3. Larian Studios actually care about their fans and it shows! I’ll play this until Life By You comes out. Paralives will be many years away until its ready but I’m excited for it, too! EA is a greedy company and they destroy everything they touch. I’m done until I see some changes. And that’s so sad. I had been featured on their blog for my stories back in the early years (2015) when they seemed to care a little more before they gutted the gameplay developers. I wholeheartedly promoted the Sims 4 everywhere by writing for Sims 4 blogs and zines. But not anymore.
Yay for representation. Love that they are adding more diversity and more people can find ways to create themselves in the game without having to rely on CC. It would be the greatest gift they could do for the anniversary, JUST to fix the bugs that have been going on for YEARS and stop breaking the game more with every update and expansion pack. I've been playing SIMS since SIMS 1. LOVED SIMS Medieval to death. I love building dream houses in the SIMS. I love the CC community and all of the beautiful, artistic things they create. I love having SIM builder vids on in the background and watching the beautiful amazing things they create.... and then I want to throw my computer through a window when my SIMS can't function in the beautiful house I spent days building for them. I am screaming "WHAT????WHAT IS F%^$# BLOCKING YOU?????!!! Why can't you put your fish taco on the counter that has NOTHING ON IT???? Why can't you walk DOWN the stairs you JUST went up two seconds ago??? You put your clothes ON the clothes line, why the F^%$# can't you take it OFF the close line????OMFG!!! FEED YOUR F%$#* BABY!!!! SIMS 4 has so many bugs the Mods delete your post or BAN you if you post about them in the main thread of the Sims4 reddit. Like, why there isn't a separate Reddit JUST for Sims 4 Frustrations, I have no idea. I just want a playable game. I don't want to spend money on a whole other new game I'd have to start from scratch with. I don't want SIMS 5 or whatever The Whoever I don't F%$@# Care Project is. I Just want them to fix SIMS 4.
I play console primarily (that is where I had capacity for my gaming) and I am super disappointed in the support for console. It feels like the team is given a publish by date and tole to make it work for console then they never touch it again. All the broken, bug filled, game breaking packs are what we get. I don't buy packs unless I want that gameplay and it isn't totally broken. I wish EA would let The Sims team be what we know it could be.
K here my take The sims and The sims 4 have alot in common they have loading screens, and kind of lack luster stuff to it. But The sims has a a freebie because well Its the first ever game Heres what the sims 2 and the sims 4 have in common They have Modern tech yes sorta but Sims 4 is better at that but sims 2 makes up for that for details LORE and gameplay. Representation is something we should get regardless of celebration or not. It feels a bit off, putting it as the celebration. It should be standalone, and for celebration it should be something else. That is my opinion in this. Not sure I worded it correctly but I hope you understand my meaning of it.
Hi My game starts running normaly, i click start game and everything is ok But when is loading all of sudden the game closes Does anyone knows how to fix it And if i uninstall the game and installed again will i lose the data?
We need more representation of other countries in the game I love that they are trying to be more inclusive with body positivity, disabilities, and lgbtq representation, but I also want more cultural diversity representation and for it to be done good, not just with sdx drops, but also worlds, expansion packs, and game packs

Well in my thoughts and opinions, i agree with the comments saying it's odd they chose vitiligo to be the 24th anniversary update. Great and all that they added it for the people who wanted it, but it should have been in the game around the time they surveyed people on it, not saved for an anniversary event..... It's also a strange thing to choose for a celebration event. I'm thinking sparkly, something that most people would use a lot in the game and if not something practical, then something in the spirit of celebration, not things like diseases or conditions, it's just too odd o.0
I hope they take notes and redeem themself for the TS4's 10th year anniversary this September.... Also, I don't get why they can't make worldwide giveaways... I'm always excluded, and like only ten countries can participate.... it's not fair, they have legal resources to take my money when I buy them packs, so why can't I participate on their giveaways?
The Trixie Mattel Sims video was boring, ngl. It just didn't fit her channel and character at all and the whole thing seemed kinda forced. She usually funny but that Sims 4 video didn't show that side, it really felt like a quick cash grab. They should've chosen Juno Birch cause she's more chaotic and regularly plays every Sims game, imo

I will never use it, so I really do not care that it was added. One thing I hope is that these particular skin details will be disabled for randomly generated townies.

sims 4 cc is not a luxury. Its a band aid to fix problems the game should not have. water is a luxury, medical care is a luxury. Downloadable free content is a first world problem at best. its not our fault there are still feral console users who refuse to switch to Mac or window's and then make it somehow our fault. im so sick of the entitlement and clueless flaunting of privilege........
I feel that I like how sandboxy the Sims 4 is in that you can literally let your imagination run wild and customize objects to make them a lot more realistic, but the trade off fo that is lack lustre or subtlety re-hashed lore. I like that there are so many packs for you to customize your game to how you want it to be, but the trade off is that the more packs you get, the worst your game gets from interlinking bugs, and sometimes they put stuff that should be base game behind pay walls. The trade offs have out weighted the things I like about the Sims 4 and I'm on a personal strike form buying anything else. I don't even have all the packs but each one I buy my game gets worse. The only packs I have 100% no regrets about getting are: Cottage Living, Home Chef Hustle, Island Living (I;m Caribbean lol), Jungle Adventures, Cats and Dogs, and Romantic Garden Stuff. The packs I regret are: Get Together (unlivable; people randomly want to fight in the streets), Parenthood + Growing Togetehr (cost; both should've been one pack).
