I really feel for you having this condition. Seizures are horrible to experience as I have had my fair share of them myself. Video footage has been shown to my Specialists Neurological team for correct analysis and diagnosis. My emotional abilities are impaired and have been since 2020,yet I believe this all began in the year before with a severe Stroke like migraine. I was diagnosed with FND along with Functional PNES this year.
What I’ve read, Stiff Person Syndrome is an autoimmune disease where as functional neurological has no known definitive tests with abnormal results which could be at the neuron (brain cell) level of damage or miscommunication.
I need to make a correction, new fMRI testing has shown the parts of the brain that are responsible for the dysfunctioning of our bodies. The answer as to why is complex and has a host of reasons why this has occurred.
