I found pictures uploaded to One Drive that included nude pictures of my wife who passed away back in 1982. I don't want them floating around for others to see, but I def don't want to delete them. Also MS has a thing with the Feds that they divulge/share any files, folders, documents with them. I definitely don't like this idea. I'm, an old man now, but that doesn't mean that I want them meddling in my stuff or getting jollies off watching photos of my wife. I deleted one drive and keep my back-ups personal. Thank you for your video, as it adds more confidence & security to personal files. It also shows how to clean MS's Cloud correctly.
Very interesting and useful :) I don’t know if it’s any better of a solution, but my natural paranoia about the cloud is why I back everything up onto external drives once a week. It only takes a few minutes and it makes me feel safer ps I also default save onto the cloud but don’t rely on it
I should not backup my files? This is horrible advice!! I don't use onedrive or any cloud services free or otherwise. BTW, the cloud is just a computer that is not owned by you and there are privacy and security risks. Get an external hard drive. It will store your data more reliably than a flash drive for long time periods of time. I bought a 2.5 inch 1 TB drive for less than $50 new! There was a time when that much storage would have been absurdly expensive!
Way to say you did not watch even half of the video without saying you did not even watch half of it 😅 Because that's what the OP said: Don't JUST back up your files to only the cloud. Back it up on physical, if you want, you can additionally back it up on the cloud.
I have local server and QNAP NAS for backups and file history. Edit: Also if you already tell people to use Ctrl+A then why not to say press CTRL+X (for cut) or CTRL+C (for copy) and then CTRL+V for paste Also just press Delete to put on bin or Shift+Delete to delete permanently. Be sure that you have some files selected when pressing shift+delete. At least verify that you don't have active selection of folder on side bar because then it will delete that folder with it's content.
FYI, CLOUD is NOT a BACKUP The issue I have with this video is the author keeps mistakenly claiming BACKING UP TO THE CLOUD THE CLOUD IS NOT A BACKUP Go and search for proper advice from someone who knows what they're talking about.
Just to qualify that comment , cloud storage CAN make a good backup service. However, using OneDrive to sync files is most certainly NOT a backup in the sense that if any file get deleted, corrupted or over-written, this error gets synced across all devices including that cloud storage.
