She also talked about her dilemma to Howard Stern privayely before the allegations broke out. Unlike the rest of the family she probably has least guilty conscience since she spoke out. Truly the hero of her family. Don't you find it weird it took her 10 years after 1993 to recant on Larry King Live in 2003? @@tias.6675 I don't know Katherine personally but I know how dysfunctional families operate coming from one myself. Over time, everything Latoya said in the 90s turned out to be true. Even back then, she had witnesses back up her claims like on the Jane Whitney show for example. She sadly received very little support from the public. It makes sense though. It was La Toya vs the Jackson family a.k.a. American music royalty. No one wanted the beautiful illusion of the carefully curated family image to be shattered. Myself included when I was younger. We want to have someone successful to look up to and believe in... It's sad but the mega fame and mega talent of MJ blinds people from looking at the full picture. If they took their rose-colored glasses off, his behavior and M.O. were quite alarming. But because fans are so fanatical they choose to make excuses for him instead of critically examining the situation for what it is. I hope the victims heal and I hope MJ himself healed before his passing in 09. It's tragic all around.

I love Latoya / MJ/ Jermaine / Rebbie ( The entire family honestly ) & no one can really say what happened behind closed doors. One thing I can say is that Latoya didn't have much of backbone, same thing with some of the other siblings ( In which you can't put a time frame on growth / strength ) Do you remember on The Jackson Family - American Dream. When Katherine first met Joe and they were dancing at a restaurant. Joe asked her something about her parents and Katherine said something to the effect of " My parents got divorced, and when I get married I'm not getting divorce " That was the mindset of alot of people back then. Honestly IMO I don't believe the sexual abuse about Joe, or the severity of it. I always say could you imagine if Latoya committed suicide while she was with Jack. Good lord he would have a FIELD DAY saying it was Joe / Janet / Michael / Katherine that killed her and he tried to save her. I can totally picture him saying that. The only one who abused her was her ex husband psycho Jack Gordon. This book is trash and she was forced to say all this. Joseph never sexually abused her or Rebbie or anyone else. In fact when Michael stated multiple times that he'd get beaten up so horribly in front of Katherine, not even once I heard Michael say she ever did anything to stop it other than maybe say, "Joe, you're going to kill the boy." So, I do believe LaToya when she said her father sexually abused her and Robbie, sometimes in front of their mother Katherine, and she would just let it happen. I can also believe Katherine was very manipulative, it's known she'd guilt trip Michael into participating in shows or tours with his brothers or make him pay for things for them despite him not wanting to, so this isn't just something LaToya had to deal with, but probably all of them kids in their own way. Michael just happened to be become the golden child after he got so big. She disgusts me as a mother and as a person. Any woman who allows her babies to be abused over and over for years in multiple ways, while not only doing nothing to stop it but also manipulating them for her own gain and benefit, and to traumatize them even further, does not deserve to be called a decent mother. She's horrible. Poor kids.

Well everyone was calling her a liar, this show is essentially having her claims challenged through a game of devil's advocate, where you tell your story/opinion to someone (the "devil") and they approach everything with skepticism and scrutinise every detail to see how airtight your arguments are. It's a game my high school teachers used to play in English class to help us form persuasive arguments. In this context it seems she's trying to show that her truth would not falter under heavy scrutiny, and I think she succeeded.
