Hey Schwartz Force! Did you know, its a great day to wear a watch? Today I will show you how to force patina onto a bronze watch using basic simple household products that will give you a natural organic looking patina pattern and also won't make your watch smell like eggs (which works awesome btw). Some salt, ammonia, and vinegar is all we'll need to get some amazing looking blue/green hues and darkened spots on your watch without over doing it and causing irreversible damage to the bronze metal. Let me know if you try this out and if you have any other tips or tricks to share be sure to drop them in the comments! 👇👇👇

Hey SchwartzForce! This is a super simple process, and I hope it’s helpful for those who have reservations about forcing patina on their bronze watches. Any tips or experiences you have feel free to share in the comments!

Doing this with the crown unscrewed seems like a really bad idea.

The darker shade looks really good with the green dial on this Enriva. 😄 It's got that antique steampunk vibe now.

Yeah I think it pairs up really good! I didn’t want to take it too far where it’s aged so much it looks “bad” lol. I know it’s subjective but this was just the right touch of aging for my liking.

That's a nice patina, especially like the numbers on the bezel now. Interesting video, thanks for sharing, David 👍

Thanks Scott! I remember you mentioning the bronze filled markers on the bezel so this was a quick and surefire way to fix that issue! Sorry for the late reply btw! 😎👍🍻

Just use yellow mustard. Works great every time.

Beautiful. I used the smashed boiled eggs in a ziplock bag method, but didn't work that well. Then, lemon juice & salto that one was great.

Nice. Although the watch is water resistant 20 bars, for some strange reason, I couldnt bear to do this without removing the movement first 😂

what about the AR coating, does this affect the glass?

Beautiful force patina on a bronze watch, but i would prefer using the watch on day to day basis to create a natural patina on watch as time goes by, to appreciate the watch transformation slowly.

Just wear your bronze watch and it will develop a natural patina. If it’s waterproof wear it in the ocean diving or snorkeling and you will get a true natural patina in literally one day. Don’t fake it just wear it and let it happen naturally.

Will this work with Titanium?
@DavidSchwartzjr
@DavidSchwartzjr 9 месяцев назад
Hey there, I do not believe so, as Titanium is rust and corrosion resistant. The chemicals may produce an unwanted or undesired effect. I would not risk it. Titanium does tend to develop a slight dulling to it just over time that can be cleaned away from what I've seen but not a patina like bronze develops.

Apparently, the only thing that will etch titanium are Hydrofluoric acid (HF) and Ammonium Bifluoride (NH4HF2)

I wouldn’t risk it with a ceramic bezel.

Why be in a hurry? Let the watch develop patina the old fashioned way, naturally. Then, you'll have something really unique, not like everyone else. Otherwise just buy one of the watches sold with "fauxtina", another joke in my opinion. With regular wear, the bronze will naturally tarnish and your body chemistry will also add some variables into the mix. Don't mean to be overly negative, but it just seems like a waste of time to me.

I carried my PAM 382 Daily for like 3 years and I can tell you that it is not much happening, dive into a pool or the sea or take a shower and some of the patina rinses off. So i have done this some time to make it look abit more worn and rugged.
