I reversed engineered my grandpa's 1945 US Navy issued hammock to make an accurate replica of the knot. Follow these easy steps to make a clew tying frame that you can use to tie an authentic clew.
I would have liked to use a natural fiber rope for the clew but I had to use what was a available to me. There is no doubt in my mind that I will make another one that uses a more accurate rope.
