Good advice. The wall of a bamboo pole gets progressively denser towards the outside. If you can get past the first third by these methods, or drilling part way, the pole will usually not split when being nailed.
Most people dont have a cordless drill and those technic are very good thank you. I would just put my nails between 2 section usually but I will be trying those tricks, Thank you
