are drivers able to save money at the end of the year?

Good, but complex question. For example, it'll depend on how much you work, etc.. Think the answer will be it depends but currently it is harder to save money than before. However, people are still able to make a living (i.e., pay the bills) driving NYC TLC.

Yes too many plates out there. Seems like the past few weeks all the black car business died possibly due to the ev plates. Good idea to open plates to drivers that have time in. You'll never get anywhere renting all the time. I'm also hoping one day I can sell my plates for a good sum and retire lol

I don’t agree drivers should make 60k a year! I think a driver that works 60 hours a week with a rider in the vehicle should (rider time) make between 100k and 120k

Youre right. Yellow cabs can pick up passengers anywhere and they dont have to wait for a request. Cabs should be less expensive but they work in volume. By contrast FHV the cars are almost always entirely the drivers responsibility and so the FHV owners should charge more, which might translate in to less rides but the payoff will be bigger. But overall the FHV's should be making more.

One thing that unfortunately he's completely wrong about is the Tesla On one full charge you can get 279 mi But to be realistic, let's cap it at 250 a day. So literally if you do have a charger on your house you could charge up once a day and never have to stop to charge again

Fair point, but key assumption you’re making is if someone has a charger at their house. In NYC, as you might know, many drivers do not have access to a home garage and park on the street

Uber used to be good not any more, you were able to make money at any hour now you can't

Show me an uberx driver is making 400-500 dollars a day and I'll show you a liar.

When it's really busy an NYC UberX driver can make that or if they get a one-off trip. You're right though, generally right now most drivers, as you probably know, are making in the range of $200 (low) to $400 (high) per day, if they put in a full 8-12 hour day.
