One of the best I heard in Axpona 2023. These sounded just amazing. I was blown away.

I heard the NS-2000A that were on display in the previous room at the Montreal Audio Festival and I was impressed at the price/performance bar they achieved. Excellent sound was one of my top 3 setups at the show.

These are Yamaha's replacement for the 1000M beryllium speakers from the 1970's. They came out a few years ago.

You should try to hear the smaller NS-3000 standmounts that use the same material. Amazing.

I'd like to try some zylon drivers but I think yamaha is the only one who makes them

I've been curious about that Yamaha turntable - - back in the day Yamaha produced one of the best turntables of it's time, an old Harry Pearson favorite - the PX-2.

Likewise... but this headshell has no angle which worries me... as they seem to be the only one that makes it this way.. I wonder why...

the only Yamaha that ever impressed me was my beloved Vmax....200bhp at the rear wheel

I enjoyed my XS1100 in the 80s. The engine in the Ford Taurus SC was also pretty sweet sounding as it wound up to about 8k revs.

We have an expectation bias. I thought the first track was truly midfi. Then I heard the price and the story about the space age material and it sounded better. Still not my taste.

yeah...I think I agree. The most important factor will be a combination of the speaker design and the room acoustics. A big horn or waveguide will always sound higher fidelity to me than anything Ive heard from a direct radiator. Just the nature of polar response and acoustics.

Tame Impala isn't the best recorded stuff out there. Belongs in a car radio

Meh, sound rather clinical. Looks are subjective but not my taste. Next…
