1000% agree! They call these competitions “fights” and you’re gonna sit on your ass and scoot around on your butt. That should be penalized!!! 15 yards, loss of down, excessive gayness! No one wants to see that shit and it is absolutely shameful. You should have to start standing and you gotta find a way to get it to the ground. Pulling guard should be counted as a takedown for the other guy imo. The sport is otherwise unwatchable, and I train and compete in bjj tournaments and I’m not a wrestler, I just simply do not understand why mfs gotta be so gay with it?
I actually really disagree, he just kind of didn't counter it? If they award points for a takedown, you are giving up those points when you put yourself in a position where you would be considered taken down. It makes no sense to start standing and award points for takedowns and you just sit on your butt, don’t give up points and Blame the other guy for not playing your bullshit. In any form of grappling, there is a penalty for passivity. That means not engaging, when you start standing and sit to your butt, you are not engaging! That dude was a disgrace.

@@ql5481 it’s not crazy when you intentionally put your knee down right when you know you are opened up for a knee if you stay standing. Definitely put the knee down to avoid the strike and stayed in the same position thinking he was safe bc of the grounded opponent rules.
The fight stuff is great, but have yall seen Dune 2? What a movie! Im not as sold on MVP because of his level of competition and his age. I think the Douglas Lima win is good, but at this point, that was years ago.....and everyone else......eh. I think the level of competition is important here.
Almost as disgraceful as winning a title and acting like u deserved it when in reality you got kneed and did and academy award performance to secure the belt, he can be mad at bjj but to call him a disgrace when he knows how he got the belt is crazy

Moving forward??? Dog, the ref said fight and he immediately sits on his ass and stayed there the entire time. This is a combat sport, no one wants to see a “fighter” acting as submissive as possible from the word go.
No offense but I wouldn’t want to move forward on a man who just lays on his but like that and I can’t strike. I do BJJ and I’ve always thought that was a disgrace when competing. In training it’s fine but if you’re good on the ground then you shouldn’t be concerned with getting taken down. It’s just soft
@@jonahblack5942 I saw someone else comment that the ref/rules should say if the competitor doesn't get up in 30 secs, it's DQ (maybe better at 20 secs or even 10, would be diff if the other person starts to engage with them or not)
@@ThatScythe anytime your ass touches the mat it should count as a takedown just as it does in wrestling. If you stay there, the ref stands it up and you’re down 2-0 if you do it again it’s another takedown. If the rule set gives points for takedowns, you can’t sit down. Period, that fixes all gayness.
