Received the same call yesterday. I was very confused and hung up the call thinking the government is not that idle to call up people and if its really that important, I'll receive a proper letter. Googled what that was about and came to know of this scam. Stay vigilant, everyone.

Even my husband got the same call 2 days back. For a second, we thought it was true because it was an automated voice call but then the other second it clicked our mind that HMRC never calls you.

I recieved this call on my first week of getting to uk. I laughed and cut the call.

I received a call yesterday about the same. I knew it was a scam but I wanted to have some fun as well. After the pre recorded message, they asked me to press 1 for English and 2 for Chinese to know more about the issue. So, I pressed 1 then the guy on the other side said did you press for Chinese(in the Chinese accent) I said no I pressed for English and then he hung up the call. Really disappointed !!!
