Yes!! I have done the same! With the hand made press ons, even if you make them yourself and size them out beforehand, they will shrink some after curing. So when you go to apply them with either nail glue or the adhesive tabs you find they are just a bit too small. I have done the above method (flattening the nail against a glass of hot water) to remedy this problem.

Yay I'm so glad the glue method is working well for you! ❤️ If there's only a slight gap between your nails and the press-ons like mine, just using glue will be enough so we won't have to do this, but it's a great way for others with flatter nail beds!

Etch the inside of the fake nail & wipe with alcohol before applying glue.

Omg same. My problem is that they curve down like talons 😂😂😂 It’s not super super extreme but ANY press on will not sit well on my nails and there’s always a gap

Ya, that's my problem too... So, you have to fill in that gap with gel or acrylic. You put a small amount on your natural nail, to make your free edge more level. Then you can attatch the tip, which at this point, you might as well use the gel or acrylic, as it will be a better bond. If you don't own the products, then you'll need to have them professionally applied. Might be better off just getting your nails done... 😊

There's this tool for acrylic nails called a C curve pincher / clamp shaping tweezers that can help curve the nail a tiny bit with pressure. The tool should also work on fake nails to curl them if needed.

Its pushing the sides in toward the middle, it's taking a flat nail and making it look like the letter C So if your looking at your free edge, looking towards your knuckle, the flat line that was once your nail, will now curve like the letter C. This will not solve the problem... This would only help people who have flat nails. Wide, flat nails. Most people who have nails, like talon nails already have a great C curve. A high apex/arch and a downward curve go hand in hand with the C curve. This tool will not help them. You must do what I said above and apply product to that 1st 1/3 of the nail, from the free edge. So that the front of your nail, from the apex or arch now goes out straight. Thus filling in the gap between the nail and the tip. Make sense?? 🙂

Unfortunately it sounds like that is your growth pattern, I don't know about corrections but you can always attempt to use gel to build up the plate and then glue on. I have to do this for my ring finger nails because the bed is too narrow to fit any factory made nails

make sure you're using handmade press-ons (made with real gel tips & polish, so they're thick and strong), not the plastic printed ones! ❤

Yes you can use a mini file that comes with each order to file it off, but if you use press-on nails a lot, I'd recommend getting an e-file, they're under $10 from Amazon, they get the glue off in a few seconds ❤️

it doesn't damage the nail/design as long as you're using handmade press-ons and not the plastic printed ones. this is cause gel tips & polish are made to withstand heat (if you've gotten gel polish done before, think the heat spike when curing the gel under a UV lamp). i hope this helps! ❤

You can use solid get although it isn't strong but if you're a kod just don't do your nails it's for adults

if she doesn't approve of you wearing fake nails you can just paint your nails and do little designs urself, but glue isn't really that harmful, just don't eat it lol, and after ur done with putting fake nails on make sure to not get them wet for an hour. as long as you watch a good instructional video on how to properly put fake nails on everything should be good :)

@@Yushiota-qf7nk the solid glue doesn't work unless your fake nail is clear or slightly clear bc it has to be cured under a UV light for it to be fully dried

It's not adviced - because it's extremely hard to get every spec of your natural nail, to fit that tip and stick to it. With no length you only have to worry the nail bed attaching, but with long nails you gotta get both to attach, and that's hard to do as you rock the tip forward. You'll keep going forward to attach the tip, and the cuticle area will lift up. As for removing you can either soak in warm water and some cuticle oil, or soak in acetone or file off. 😊

Polish your nails and let it dry then add your press on nails in doing this you should have a clean nail bed love a nail tec

Use gel or acrylic for a lasting press on set this helps with the gaps too

If you apply more glue to both your nail and the press on, it can last longer!

@@intentionail_ I had glue leaking out all over my finger. It's because I have flat nail beds, most press ons are too curved for my nail

@@shibibi1 oh yes that makes sense.. is that the case for handmade ones? I find the plastic manufactured ones are too curved for my nailbeds too, which are flat.

@@intentionail_ I have a lot more success with hand made ones since I can explain to the maker about my flat beds, and we can usually compensate by using a larger sized nail and filing it back a bit.
