They could have donated the marshmellows to a school, youth club or food bank what a waste. They need to start to fine companies that throw out that amount of stock. They could have even given them away at the checkout with purchases.

I think I heard they are unable to do so, because of insurance reasons. For the stock unsold, the company can claim back a % of the cost through insurance. Presumably that is void if they donate it to a foodbank. Also, if they donate then they run the risk of being sued due to food poisoning etc. But you are right it is a disgusting waste. It would be better if you had "Tesco Foodbank" where you go to get food from Tesco which is out-of-date (obviously not meat/dairy) but could be given away to those less fortunate. Note: For those wondering, "Best-Before" dates are to do with flavour, and can mostly be eaten after that date (within reason). "Use By" are your perishable foods like meat, dairy, etc which can give you food poisoning if you eat it when the date has expired.

@@JustMe-nj6dp💯% right mate maybe they should try taking 75% off the full price a week before they go out of date you'd get customer buying them but sadly the shop keepers don't do it as they can claim their money back through their tax write offs and get full value for each item I believe correct me if I'm wrong tho 😢

Wow! I guess an employee has to throw them in the bin. It must be frustrating as they probably aren’t allowed to take any home. Most people would find it hard to throw chocolate away. Well done for saving what you could.

I didn't realise that the store's threw so much away, until i started watching you. You would automatically think the store's would give it to food banks. Absolutely ridiculous cannot believe they chunk it in the bin, it's shameful.

The Cawstons cans are £3.50 on offer in shops for a 4 pack, the rhubarb ones are my favourites, but theyre usually to expensive for me to buy xx well done for rescuing all of the stuff xx

agreed, I would have had the lot, most of this stuff if kept in the right temperature will last longer than you can imagine! theres so many preservatives in them that they can last years and years in storage.

Maybe you should have a food pantry on speed dial so you can call them on-site when you find dumpsters overflowing with food. I remember hearing a store manager once say they are in the business to make money, not to feed poor people.

My friend hide your licence plate please remember under UK law you can be charged with theft by finding. You showing your licence plate means your tracable.

thanks for your concern but in uk law theft by finding applies to items that have been lost by the owner like dropping a phone or a wallet and someone pics it up without returning it to you. rubbish is not lost it is discarded thanks for watching

Here’s my trick buy box Rice Bubbles melt marshmallows 10 seconds at a time in microwave use spoon to test each time but first get a tray ready lined then mix flatten in tray let cool cut up for kids lunch boxes. Crispy treat and cheaper than store brand

What a crime to waste all of this, even though it’s junk food, the production must push up the price of things that are then thrown away. Whoever is in charge of stock control is not doing the job.

U nas jest to samo, pracownicy nie tyle wyrzucają zapakowane rzeczy, tylko bułki , rogaliki i inne rzeczy upieczone danego dnia. Każdy śmietnik jest zamknięty.
