Love chrome! I've been putting base coat on top of the chrome powder, then the second top coat. It's stopped any peeling from the shiny on shiny 😁💜

Oh awesome thank you I love all the different powders..so let me make sure I understand so I apologize..so you do your one coat of the chrome powder apply base coat over the powder then another coat of chrome with topcoat..

Yes base over the chrome and then top coat can help, though that base coat is in the same boat as if you topped over the chrome, meaning it hasn't got anything to grip to. Anything that goes on top of chrome powder isn't going to adhere as well as gel on gel. Personally I find the over capping makes the most difference (for me) and then turn the hand upside-down after curing and cure the underside of the nail, so the over capped bit is cured. I did this on a pianist client and she got 3 weeks with no tip wear - I was shooketh! 😆

Our country has major issues when it comes to guns and gun violence. It’s ridiculous, it’s embarrassing, and it’s horrifying. People are dying so often by gun violence that it’s usually not even nationwide headline news anymore. This just doesn’t happen in countries where guns aren’t allowed.

Yeah it is really sad that there is another means of harming people; it's not like people aren't doing enough harm to each other without them! We really don't have gun news over here, but if there is, then it's a big deal and it's national and everyone is shocked. There is other crime of course, but when you take guns out the picture, it reduces by so much.

Theres a shooting in the US pretty much every day. Its not really headlining news when it happens anymore. Most of us have a fatigue about it at this point. It sucks, and we hate it, and most of us think there should be better regulations, but we are also pretty helpless to change anything about it. So. Yeah. I was eating at a burger joint a few years ago and a guy came in with a huge gun with a huge clip hanging off his shoulder and a pistol in his waistband. "Open carry" means he can just... do that. When he's getting lunch. I def sped out of there asap though. Anyway I love chrome nails I'm glad they are back in popularity!

From Colorado USA…Love the MG the best. I’ve just been waiting for it to get back in stock. As for violence, I’m not a fan of guns. While people can be killed with just about anything, nothing is so sickening as knowing that anyone can pull out a gun and start killing large numbers of people. Background checks are a joke. People argue that with a gun, they can defend themselves and others, but it’s extremely rare that someone uses a gun to stop a shooting. I pray for your parents’ safety and thank you for another fun video. Color me shocked to see that you’d done your nails!😂

I live in a little town in Florida. There isn't gun violence near me, but there is in large cities near me (Jacksonville, Gainesville). As far as gun violence in another state, we rarely hear of it unless it's more than 10 people, then we might. I remember the 1st school shooting had news coverage for days. Now, even that barely gets mentioned. Thank you for the comparisons!

Hi Miss Jo and Dexter! 🤗 Love the chromes. 😍🥰 I think Madam Glam is the better one for the full cover. If you leave it for a few they the brush stokes will go away. If your just doing detail work any would do out of these. I've seen acetone put on the chrome gel and it really is shiny and if you put alcohol in it it is pale good for a marble. I live outside of Baltimore Maryland, here shooting’s are so common that you don’t even hear about them unless someone dies Or it’s multiple victims (usually 3 or more). Hi Jo, how are you and your parents doing? I know that had to be so scary to go through. It’s horrible every time I hear about another shooting, I’m from the US , I feel so helpless so I always pray for everyone in the situation because it helps me feel a little bit better, but nothing can take the shock and worry away. I don’t understand how people can think hurting someone else can make them “feel better”, it’s horrible. About the beautiful chrome nails my fav is madam glam, I love the powder chrome, my fav is the purple and green, and I’m not always a green girl but I like this one. I’m more of a turquoise lover. Purple and blue is my fav colors. Dexter is just the cutest, it’s cute that I could hear him shaking his head and I love to hear his ears flapping lol. 💜💜💜

Full shade to the US is warranted, this country is insane. To answer the question you had in the video, no we don’t hear about the "smaller" shooting unless people were hurt or killed. And even then it happens so often that a lot of these stories just fall through the cracks. Being caught in a senseless shooting is a numb but constant fear for a lot of people here and justifiably so.

I have 2 silver chromes from Canni I'm waiting on now. One is a base and the other is for detailing. Can't wait to see if there's a difference and if the base has less brush strokes. There are so many shootings here. Some make national news, police involved shootings, others just make local news. It's sad and scary either way.

Double top coating after the chrome powder stops it wearing as quickly, I noticed that too!

Yeah that helps! Though the second top coat is still sat on a layer which is sat on powder on shiny. I think a lesser longevity than just gel is always a likely occurance with powder over cured no wipe. Worth it though 😆

@@MissJosNailCo I've had mine on a week and it hasn't worn off, last lot 2 days LOL, its a normal top coat for the last layer, I think it's better wearing than the no wipe ones, I used IBD, bit more expensive but I've been happier with it.

That's good! I usually lightly file the free edge, and then over-cap, and once cured, turn the hand upside down and cure the over-capped side. Definitely helps!

How do you clean your brushes? I read to use isopropyl alcohol but I’ve tried that numerous times and although it cleans it, when it dries it the bristles are bendy. They never separate again. I darent use nail polish remover because I heard it damages the bristles

I use isopropyl alcohol, and they do dry stiff but I just wet them again (with ipa) before I use one and the bristles are then moist and soft again 🎉

I find mixing brands hasn't been a problem for me in the past, so maybe you could get a no wipe for using chrome, and then top with your usual brand.

It’s national news when there’s an unprovoked shooting of multiple people (like the shooting you mention in Florida). Unfortunately, shootings are so common that individual shootings don’t typically make national news. I live in Georgia, where gun laws are much more relaxed than where I grew up (NJ). In GA, one can legally own a gun (long gun or hand gun) when 18yo, there’s no waiting period in GA, you can carry it on you, either concealed or not, & GA doesn’t register firearms. It was incredibly shocking & disturbing during the pandemic to unwittingly click a video and watch the footage with my 15yo daughter of Ahmaud Arbery being hunted down & murdered by an ex-local policeman and ex member of the coast guard within 5-10 miles from our home. They hunted him like he was an animal. All the gun violence is disgusting and frightening. I gave my daughter a cell phone when she was 10yo because I wanted her to be able to call for help if there’s a school shooting. How insane is that? I should be packing her lunch, not packing a phone in case she’s shot at while at school.

Agreed. My son is always in his phone and tends to run the battery down before he gets home so I make sure he always has one of those rechargeable power banks in his backpack to keep his phone charged in case (gawd forbid) something happens at his school and he needs to make an emergency call or call me. Pretty freaking sad.

I have one quick question, I am in the U.S. and have a 6 year old grand daughter, who wants fake nails. She want press on nails that I can paint for her and just stick the. On, but the ones I bought do not have any glue. What do you suggest I use, that will keep them on for a while. She is not a rough and rowdy girl, but she is 6. Any suggestions?

Hey 👋 I definitely wouldn't use nail glue on her, but instead use nail tabs, which you can get from Amazon. You get a whole load of them in a pack, and though they're not as hard-wearing as glue, they're definitely the only thing you want to put on little nails.

@@karenmelton3729 Gel polish will peel off her because children's nails, and all that entails, are not fully formed yet, and are much more oily. I definitely would recommend not using gel polish on her. The nail tabs I've used all seem to be same wherever they're from. They're still not going to be very durable on her for the same reason. I think regular nail polish is the safest and will last the longest 🥰

Unfortunately, this type of violence is such a regular occurrence throughout the country that I'm sure it's difficult to cover every story. Each state does a well job of covering these occurrences in their own state and unless it is something like a mass shooting, the rest of the country doesn't hear about it. 💔😥

As a nurse, taking drugs/alcohol rectally is something I see more and more. There was a period of time where people were soaking tampons in alcohol and putting them in the rectum. The tissue in the rectum absorbs faster…but is definitely extremely dangerous. I did not know there was a name for it. I came for a entertainment video and leave with work education 🤦‍♀️🤣😂

Sadly, Miss Jo, so far 6,278 people have died from gun violence *this* year in the U.S, as of Feb. 23. - which is roughly an average of 116 deaths each day. I’m freaking scared to go out. Our state recently relaxed the conceal carry laws, which is insane. Geezus, it’s not like they have to wear a warning sign. Is everyone packing heat at the grocery store? An actual day back in the Wild West was safer than now. It’s infuriating that nothing ever gets done.

American chiming in... I wish this were considered shocking, but it happens so often that we've become desensitized to it. Shootings happen daily where I live and I'm in a smaller metropolitan area. I wish we had stricter gun laws and background checks or just flipping IQ tests because the mentality towards guns here is so messed up. We've been through tragedy after tragedy in this country and nothing ever changes.

Yeah they're horrendous. No kid should have to even think about guns, let alone prepare for an incident. We've never had active shooter drills (I didn’t even know what that meant until recently!) We had 1 school shooting, changed gun laws and have had 0 since. Our gun laws were strict even before Dunblane, but that's all it took and we changed things, and it works!

Not wanting to start a divisive discussion: shootings of multiple victims here hit the headlines, especially if the victims are pale completed or higher income, or in a public venue of some sort. Of COURSE people with a long list of convictions whom have a gun got it illegally. I am against all the extreme gun control movements because such measures only remove them from the hands of law abiding citizens, the bad actors can get a gun easily. Guns are just one of those things that can not be put back into the toothpaste tube, no matter how much we might wish it so. Also there are still many parts of the USA where one really requires a handgun for one’s safety from large and aggressive animals. I lean towards the side of quietly going in the opposite direction if possible, but it is not always possible do avoid confrontation this way. Though come to think about it, the same can be said about some portions of many more urban areas as well, as regards people. Self defense is legitimately something I feel everyone should be entitled to. Just my 3.5 cents. 💞🎨💅🏼💞

It is a very difficult situation over there I think. For a bad person to get their hands on a 'let's shoot the place up' type gun over here, it's going to set them back tens of thousands of pounds, so they're not really getting their hands on them. I agree that if people are allowed guns, then people will want guns for protection from people with guns...it's kind of a catch 22. Have you watched Jim Jeferies gun control? Agree with him or not, it's hilarious 😂

I just went and read the article about that shooting. He shot the first woman in his cousins car, then fled the scene. Came back and shot 2 reporters that were covering the first shooting (one of them died), then entered a home nearby, shot a mother and killed her 9 year old daughter. The violence in our country is serious. Mass shootings have become the norm recently. People have heard/seen about mass shootings, and shooting sprees, so much that they have become desensitized to them. I'm in a small, rural area of Ohio, but we're about an hour and a half from one of the bigger cities (Columbus) where there is a lot of violence. And the violence has gotten even worse because of this bullshit political divide. It seriously makes me want to move to another country. Not just the violence, but the bullshit between Democrats and Republicans as well. Our country is more divided now than it has been in a LONG fucking time. I hope your parents make it/have made it home safely. ❤

I'm not against guns as a whole, I own a .22 rifle myself, but it is far too easy to get a gun in this country. It's ridiculous. And if you even mention gun control, it causes a whole new war because there are A LOT of people who think that "gun control" means that we want to take away their guns entirely. That's not what we mean. At least not all of us. By "gun control", I mean making it harder for people to get a gun. If you are legally (and mentally) able to own a gun, then we don't want your damn guns, and you've got nothing to worry about anyway. 🙄

I’m a Canadian and I live right on the US Canada border my uncle is a Canadian customs guard at least once a day they are seizing a gun from a very angry person who doesn’t think it’s fair they can’t bring their semiautomatic weapon into Canada that they carry for personal protection. Also almost every major name brand superstore sells guns and ammo depending on the state very little background checking is done it’s bonkers 😅

Unfortunately, violence of all sorts have become all too frequent here. When you have people who’ve been kicked out numerous times for awful things coming right back anywhere along the border they want, and District attorneys refusing to prosecute anything short of murder, and the evil that used to hide in the shadows out in your face every second of the day, you can’t get away from it. Blame the breakdown of the family unit and moral code for the chaos. Guns can’t kill without a person holding it, and illegal guns are too easy to get. Making it harder for responsible law abiding people to get them just makes it easier on the criminals to victimize people. New subject: Love the comparison side by side. It’s a great way to help decide which brand to get without wasting money on something when you don’t have to.❤ And really, it’s a matter of getting what will give the look you want. It’s not much difference in price for some. Those glitters are gorgeous!🤩 So cute hearing Dex in the background. My Great Dane does the spinning thing before she lays down as well. It sucks when she decides to do it at 3am. OMG, shufted?😂😂😂🫣 Powder is the only true way to get a true “mirror-like” chrome. The purple IS stunning! But so is that red. Wow!❤
