Yay! Someone else whom loves water fall hikes. My husband and I started hiking all over western Nc back in 2012. We are just about done but I think we have some small ones left. We are here this weekend with our 3 neice and nephews. So excited to introduce them to hiking. Been to nearly 99% of your water fall list and can’t wait to revisit
Eagle rock is another not so known 1/2 mile hike to the top and the best views around with lake lure below..eagle rock connects to the weed patch trail
It's never been a secret place for us locals. It's been trashed by South Carolinians since at least the 60s... And they're why most properties are posted on the Rocky Broad through Hickory Nut Gorge! People need to learn to take their trash home!
I would add Discovery Falls. It's a beautiful (lesser known) waterfall on a small side road off Pisgah Highway near its intersection with the Parkway. Short hike to it, and yet somehow almost never mentioned. Another EPIC waterfall I'd mention is Rainbow Falls down by Sapphire. For my money that might be the most beautiful waterfall in Western NC.
Happy Sunday, what a great video very informative I've been to the area number of times absolutely spectacular viewing if you want to be close to nature you can't get any closer, thank you for sharing ✌️
Great video thanks. Our family is from New Zealand 🇳🇿 and we're heading your way on Monday for the week we are totally into the hikes and rivers so this was really helpful
My wife and I did some hiking in the Smokies one was chimney tops before the fire. This and some nice waterfalls would be a nice time with little to no humans. Sometime in the winter months. Any ideas. Oh yea, we always book a log cabin for the week. Any advice would be great. Thanks, Gary
Great vid! My fam of 5 (3 teens) will be in Asheville in October and staying at the Omni Grove. What’s the closest hike to the Omni? We just hiked in Steamboat CO and they loved it. Just trying to find something logistically close bc we’re only there for three nights. TYSM!!
Oh my goodness! This was so helpful! I'm not from the area, but I love to go on hikes with my family and was thinking about visiting. Great to find some good hikes for a family with young children! Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video!
No one has been able to tell me a good spot in Asheville or nearby to see the sunrise and sunset. Someone mentioned a place where you can see both but they couldn’t remember the name.
Waterrock Knob off the Blue Ridge parkway south of Asheville has open views both east and west. It is a bit of a drive but worth it in my opinion. Also a great spot to watch during meteor showers. Pisgah inn off Blue Ridge Parkway faces east for stunning sunrise, then lots of overlooks west for sunsets. Many pack and dinner and watch sunset on an overlook. Grove Park Inn, Sunset Terrace is a nice place to dine outdoors and watch the sunset.
