Well I would say you are, she wanted to cheer you guys up made sure you guys had a little fun and tried not to stress herself blood may be thicker than water but water is is sweeter and that person should think about it!

Okay so not my place to say this, but still with the dead husband and dead dog yes she does know how she felt, maybe if she did it with her sister once a month, it wouldn't be so hard on the both of you. But to say that losing a dog isn't as bad a losing a husband it is, but she doesn't understand that a pet that you love and have taken care for it for a long time you grow attached really hard because the dog is a baby it many not cook, or clean, but it doesn't mean that they don't love you they do alot, they have feeling too, they get attached to. So that was wrong of the sister and the husband, but the sister with the dog was to pushy about it. But its her was of griving and if she can understand that realitiy she would have grew from that and care about you too, she also lost somebody she needed support too. So your both in the wrong.
She does not know how it feels. Losing a human being, meant to be your life-long partner, can not compare to losing a pet that you went into knowing you would lose before you died. I know how both the pains feel (I have lost both a pet and a family member) and I can tell you, it does not compare. It is so hard to remember that I will never ever see that family meme again, it was much easier to accept with my pet. The dog girl is the asshole.
