Mishmish makes me miss my old black cat, salem. She passed away several years ago lol but she acted identical to mishmish! Very needy, loving, only Salem was an indoor cat only. Another great show! Gonna try this potato and pork pudding! It looks sooo good!!

I love both channels (and Kandye's craft channel too) because I am a history nerd, a book collector, a tailor who sews historical garb, and a foodie who translates medieval manuscripts (receipts). Since I can't actually time travel, witnessing history is the next best thing so I thank you!

I was told my family is related to Jesse James but I'm not sure that's anything to be proud of. Merry Christmas to you both.

Most of my cats have been vocal like that, including my current one. My last one, she always loved being held too and demanded shoulder time. I watched this food being cooked and it looks like comfort food to me. Seemed strange but meat and taters is never a bad thing. Those siblings that moved to Texas probably went there because of the oil boom at the time. Just a guess.

You could still send a letter without a stamp as late as the 1960's and 70's. I know because when I was a very young teen I forgot to stamp a letter to Mom and she had to pay postage when it was delivered.

Ron, to me it is wayyyy more impressive that your 5 time great grandfather was an abolitionist, seemed to be fair to his indentured servants, (my ancestors were Italian indentured servants, and were treated badly) gave two salves a real job, and helped them get free than it would be if you were related to THE Jorge Washington.

Here in the "old country" you will find steak.....or steak and kidney PUDDING regularly , a very popular traditional dish. . It consists of a suet pastry lined basin filled with onions, steak ( or steak and kidney) well dusted in seasoned flour, sometimes a carrot too. It is then covered and steamed for a couple of hours. Lots of seasonal love from the yorkshire dales xxxx

Our black kitty was needy indeed when she had her litter she cried and cried until we sat beside her through the whole delivery and she kept her kittens close to us. That's great that Ron's ancestors honored the heroes of their day by naming their kids after them. You should try to contact your British relatives too. You are fortunate that there are records that you can trace your genealogy. Not everyone has records to go back to even two generations back. My friend's late husband was related to Daniel Boone. Fun, Ron, about your ancestors being named after some of the Early American Fathers. My own ancestry has my 4th or 5th (not sure?) gr-grandfather on my Dad's side had the name Thomas Jefferson Hawkins. He comes from my gr-grandfather (not sure what number he would have been) that came to America, settling in Maryland, from England in the very late 1600s or early to mid-1700s. Dont totally remember when it was; need to look it up. He was named Robert, a wealthy farmer, who helped fund the American Revolution. All his sons fought in that war and I've read one of the sons may have perished at Valley Forge. It's so fun to learn about your background as I hope you enjoyed hearing about mine. You guys are both fun to listen to. The food looked good and loved the Williamsburg-type decoration you made. Hope your Saturday is great! Sue ♥

I love your cat, Mish Mish and has so much to say. Yes, my Mozzarella (aka Motzie - we call her this all the time, female) loves to be held like Mish Mish and sleeps on my dining room table. My Gouda (male) loves to talk and loves to eat, especially bacon and pork. LOL! They are 7-month-old brown tabbies and rescue kittens from a dairy farm. My kittens do the same as Mish Mish when it comes to leaving and coming home. My husband said that he wants me to make this meal for him. I do cook almost every day (when I get lazy once and a while). I love both of your channels! Don't change a thing. They had to adapt back then and we adapt now with recipes. Simple is best when it comes to cooking. I do some elaborate dishes on holidays though.
