Leon Edwards states pretty plainly that he will doesn’t believe Belal Muhammad should he the next title shot for his UFC welterweight belt. #UFC #SHORTS
What were u watching? 😂 Belal was the one with the personality, the only one who tried to sell the fight while Leon the lispy Edwards mumbled his one liners "headshot dead!" all throughout pre-fight lol And in the octagon, Belal was the one that brought the fight to Leon. Outstriked him and ragdolled him.
Lol next to Leon, Bella looks like the most entertaining fighter on the planet. Leon always was boring as shit, the only redeeming moment in Leon's career is KO of Usman.
@@mhd-tvyt2725 you’re right my bad. It was so much better when we had a champ that after doing nothing but kick a guys legs for 4 rounds, got cocky enough to try and grapple with him just to get smudged into the canvas for the last one. Leon always put on such exciting fights 🤦♂️
Leon is a hypocrite. How could he whine back then begging for a title shot and now he's the champion he can't give the contenders the opportunity he was given? Belal might be boring asf, but he deserves that shot.
the guy is a bellend, i think the only thing keeping him from being the most unpopular ww is belal and the meme exposure he got from that rios kid. the man is skilled but man he is unlikable.
Bit of a ridiculous statement to be honest, leon moaned constantly that he was being treated unfairly because he had won 10 in a row and deserved the shot yet now when its someone else he doesnt think they deserve it
Shavkat is ranked #3 rn so theres a solid chance hes getting the shot next but if belal gets it i do see shavkat taking another fight so he doesnt have to sit out forever @@Calluma96
They did. That’s how masvidal got 2 title shots before him. And that’s his exact point. He was done dirty so now he doesn’t feel he owes anybody anything
@@themarathoncontinues4211Yeah but he's just continuing the cycle of unfair title shots, the right thing would be to break the cycle and give the rightful challenger his shot.
@@tamie341You mean like how uncle Chael always mentions how Tony Ferguson lowered the ladder down for Olivera? That didn’t work out to well for Tony did it?
themarathoncontinues4211 Leon was NEVER a draw on top of the fact that he sat out for YEARS and never really beat ANYONE in the top 5 or worth talking about for that reason..Leon did it to HIMSELF 🤡
@@JesusGarcia-pz6vgmy g he defended his belt twice this year what are you on about that's typical for most ufc fighters...how was he suppose to fight 4 months ago when he fought usman in march?? Go watch another sport bud
@@matik9099 he did a rematch 4 months after the first Kamaru fight. He sat out for 8 months just because he didnt want to fight Colby. I'm just stating facts. that fight was schedualed for august but Leon fucked up the card. the problem is not the 2 title defenses in a year, the problem is the 8 month gap between them
Whether you like the guys fighting or style personally or not, Belal has earned the shot and Leon in a way DOES owe him that rematch. He’s the one who ended that fight by a nasty eye poke. Yea Leon won the first round, but the rest of the fight needed to play out.
@@Gfzvjkkfrtfxhiizhe’s right tho, the ufc should have the final say otherwise you’ll just have champs picking and choosing who is easier, making them not the best in the world
@@brettorton2363 the ufc have the final say what are u talking about ? Who told u that a fighter can pick fights he wants (conor maybe had that privileg)
@@Jarrosnshajahwhafter doing everything in his power to weasel out of the fight 😂 even pulled the ol Dillon Danis “throw something at his face the day before the fight in hopes that it cuts him, and forces him to pull out”
@@michaelvick4588 I do bc it’s annoying to hear someone play so cool and act as if top opponents don’t deserve the shots they were given. To hear him say “yeah nah” to obvious top talent twice now is annoying as all hell. The reporters are only suggesting top 5-7 dudes, and he keeps saying no😂 so who does he actually want to fight? Guy ranked #15-#16? It’s just a bad look. And for what? Dude pieced Colby up. He doesn’t have any say in who he’s fighting and it’s annoying to see him kind of act like he does, and say the top guys don’t deserve shots.
*Colby weighs in as backup* Dana: "Obviously Colby's next, he was the backup!" *Belal weighs in as backup* Dana: "idk man you know we don't make fights the night of the fight"
Colby: sells ppv, headlined 4 times, actually has a personality (aint a good one but atleast has one) BeLOL: ..........tf he done to get the shot lmao, beat Burns when he had an injured soldier, beat Brady who aint even top 7 at the time, and then wonderboy (i dont rlly consider that a fight)
@@vaishnavguvvala3346 You are trying to discredit Belal's wins but he was literally an underdog in all of those fights you mentioned. All of those guys were supposed to beat him and they couldn't
Leon really has a talent for undermining the hype to his fights. It’s honestly so frustrating. He might as well tell the audience to not watch his fights.
@@eloybox this fight isn't booked, Dana doesn't even seem interested lol wtf are you even saying? Sell what? Something that doesn't exist 😆, can't sell those 2 fighting each other. Noone wants it and it's clear as day.
@@OlieVvsdelusional take, i agree hes boring but look who hes beat and the streak hes on, theres literally no better case for someone else to get it other than $
Why do you think Dana said “I have no idea”? Because next will be Shavkat, UFC doesnt care about yours comments about who deserves what. Leon vs Shavkat next and you can say what you want.
@@kingt0295that’s what they said about GSP and Khabib. Look how highly everyone speaks about them now. When someone outclasses their opponent, it is always a boring fight. On a side note, I don’t know how you thought Leon vs Usman we’re “boring fights”
@@1millionsubs300 Leon and Colby was boring. Leon and Usman 3 was boring. Leon’s a boring fighter, he’s trynna get big names but he won’t even risk anything in the fights. And he can’t promote a fight to save his life.
Hes denied everyone. But its not up to him. This isn't boxing u don't get to pick your opponents it has to make financial sense or the next guy in line. Either way it's not their decision . Leon's got a chip on his shoulder for thinking he's better then everyone it's weird.
@@cody123mccluskey mate, it’s a known fact every champ gets to pick who they’re fighting. They get 3-4 fighters sent their way and they choose who to fight.
@@Neil-qg9cw that's not how Champs act. Decline every number 1 contender like none of them derserve it. Complains about having a 10 fight Win streak and not gtn a title shot then says belal dont derserve it cuz he didn't get it. So he's gonna decline belal because the win streak and give it to someone with a smaller streak ? Makes no sense. He's full of himself. I noticed it with the Colby fight to. Colby fight was the biggest fight to be made. He declined it knowing Colby will be next but only did it to feed his ego. That's whats he's doing here aswell. Did it with kamaru aswell after the first fight. Champs don't say no they say yes but we will see who's next cuz its not up to him to decline a fight.
@@cody123mccluskey Oh , mate we’re kind of on the same page here. I was actually going for Leon , I won EZ money on Leon vs Colby. But yea, I don’t like how now he’s changing up. That’s why I said what I said lol. But it’s cool I guess, maybe it’s the champions cockiness/confidence speaking.
@batmanRBC What a one armed Gilbert Burns who he couldn't finish, Wonderboy who loses to any half decent wrestler, Vincente Luque and Sean Brady. Hardly big names.
Low key would be a bad look I know but Leon vs Colby the rematch in London with a narrative on will he actually KO Colby? This is the easiest Money fight that would benefit everyone Big event easy sold out for UFC Easiest big money paycheck for the champ And Colby can't deny such an opportunity it's his last chance and he knows he can't get anything better
Leon got too comfortable. Imagine the statement; they are all similar styles anyway, all boxers. He is confident, without looking into the details of each fighter.
I love Leon, I'm a big fan, but his treatment of Belal irritates me. After spending years bitching and moaning about how ridiculous it was being overlooked despite his 9 fight streak, now denying a new contender who has done the same thing but better (longer streak against better opponents) is unfathomable to me. One of the most hypocritical things I've ever seen. It's not like he's even a particularly scary fight for Leon. It's just a rehash of the second Usman fight without the punching power. Belal doesnt have the submissions to threaten enough to stop Leon getting up if he does go down. It's between him and Shavkhat and I know who I'd rather fight...
Both Leon and Belal are pretty boring fighters tbh. Aside from his one highlight real (the Usman headkick), Leon is kind of a points fighter and has lots of decisions. I can't wait for Shavkat to take over this division, with him as champ we're guarenteed to get interesting fights. 100% finish rate
So he admits Colby skipped the line already, but won’t give Belal a shot, even though Leon was in the exact same situation before. This guy can say what he wants, but he’s scared of fighting Belal.
This ladies and gentleman is a great example of why there will never be a fighters union. This guy is a hypocrite. So the ufc shit on you repeatedly, by his logic he can do the same to someone else. Be better Leon
He is not have championship mentality like Alex, John Jons, Islam, he is freaking F**sy he is he became champion cause of one lucky head kick we saw he almost get knocked out by Nate Diaz, i was pretty sure bilal will get the job done and he is the new champ from now on Leon will never get a chance to hold the belt again 😂
