Happy Belated Birthday, Frank! I had a wonderful encounter in the 80s with a beautiful Silverback at Busch Gardens.I’ve always been amazed by these mighty creatures.
I am glad you posted this. I was wondering if they gave Frank birthday treats this year. I count on grace love to post videos about this family but I didn’t see her post about Frank’s birthday treats, maybe she wasn’t there at the time...I hope you post more videos about the Winston Family....

I just ran across this video of Frank and Monroe. I realize its a year old but thank you for filming this clip of Franks 14th birthday. Now that they have excluded from exhibit, we can't see him anymore. Frank, we miss seeing you. Thank you for this video.
I aware he was aware it was it birthday. After he received the book his look was like " yeah, I am King 👑". Looks like he thoroughly enjoyed everything!
Their predictions about him being a big boy over time were spot on .... I can only imagine, almost two years later, he's a lot heftier. Monroe's no slacker either.
So far, gorillas are the only species other than humans to grasp the concept of death as humans do. As per the magnificent Coco, who lost her beloved kitten to a road traffic accident. She, via sign language, enquired as to the wellbeing of her lost kitten, heart-brocken as she was. It was explained to her that the kitten was gone in it's entirety, that nothing remained. Coco went into a severe depression which lasted three weeks, much to her carers dismay. Carefully, they also explained that the kitten, who she still missed desperately, could no longer suffer. This was the turning point for her recovery. These magnificent animals are feeling and intelligent. They are highly adaptive. Their cousins, the chimpanzees, are entering the 'stone age', as we once did. They are at the cusp of enlightenment, as we once were. We must protect them.
