The foam is perfectly safe its called Great stuff gaps and cracks, it just needs to cure all the way! And only 100% silicone caulk should be used

Welcome to another video of: "let's promote on RU-vid something that's potentially dangerous for animals" Today we have promoting a way too small enclosure for a Gecko. Including expanding Foam, unspecified Clay and exposed heat mats that jsut get some dirt one them. Not to forget today's visitor. An emptied out coconut with a tiny hole for a Leopard Gecko that won't fit there.. Plus the Coconut is loose and will roll off. Also a quite thin Gecko being put into said enclosure.

You can use aquarium safe silicone!!! but please PLEASE never put the actual heat mat IN THE TANK!!!! This could easily burn your pet and possibly kill them!!!!

Seems like dangerous substance to put into an aquarium with a biological being . There should be some sort of calculator which would analyze if the compositions you want to use in the project would be safe and good for those who would be in it's surroundings .

Literally so much wrong with this 🤦🏻‍♀️ the foam could be toxic to the animal, so could the paint. A heat pad inside the tank could burn the animal, and then they seriously choose to put a leopard gecko inside? Leopard geckos live in the desert! 😂

This is a great terrarium! But not necessarily for a leopard gecko. They tend to be more ground-dwelling and don't climb much, so you'll want a longer horizontal space rather than a vertical space. Please always make sure that the materials you're using are safe for reptiles (for this example: the spray foam, the clay, and even certain plants)! I would also advise away from loose substrate such as dirt, soil and sand, especially if you have a baby/smaller leopard gecko, as they lick everything (fun fact: that's how they smell, just like snakes) and can't digest things like that, so they could eventually pass away from a blocked-up gut. One last thing: the heat mat ALWAYS goes on the OUTTER BOTTOM of the terrarium!! They pack a lot of heat and can burn your reptiles, of whom can't sense when they're being scorched! A great video non the less! Please always do your research for the best health of your pets💚

Expanding foam can be a killer if there are harmful chemicals, also clay, yes ok, makes nice sculptures, but again, check first as some tanks require a lot of humidity which can either crack or soften clay.

I don’t recommend as it’s very hard if not impossible to clean, looks cool tho maybe for plants but I don’t even know if that foam is safe…. Edit: holy shit that’s small!!!💀

How do you disinfect this or clean it with everything glued down? I would not recommend this. The foam is fine it's not toxic to reptiles when dry.

NEVER DO THIS! the foam is probably going to kill the pet and you won’t be able to clean the tank all the way and NEVER put a heating pad inside the tank it will get to hot and kill the animal! Also the coconut could have ruff edges that could hurt them, So pls don’t do what this video says

That viv is way too small for a leopard gecko and is probably too humid as well. (also the higher hide is a bit of a hazard as while they are capable of climbing, they're not very good at it)

leopard geckos need a tank much much larger than that, plus they are an arid species of gecko. Also that plant looks to be an anubias, which is an aquatic plant

Leopard geckos are famous tropical and arborial geckos, absolutely not desertic and they love to die because the heat pad is inside their enclosures. There's nothing right about this build, leopard geckos are super common so it's easy to find information about them but you still did everything wrong, that's incredible considering the probabilities that something like this happens. You probably feed it plants and wonder why it's starving

The foam will offgas nasty fumes under the heat of the light or heat mat she put right on the foam. If it’s not for animals then your just slowly killing it at best.

Enclosure is too small and much too tall. Leopard geckos are arid reptiles, not tropical. Expanding foam didn't have adequate time to dry and is a health hazard for your reptile. Coconut house wasn't properly dried and can also be a hazard by promoting mold. The clay attached to the other house would make it difficult to remove and clean it properly when needed. The substrate is either peat or Coco coir, and doesn't contain necessary nutrition for the plant to grow long term. Reptile habitat rating 1/10. Please don't use this as a care/housing guide for your pets! Like of you agree, so others can see this. 👇

That’s super cute but it would be better suited to a crested gecko, leopard geckos tend to use horizontal space not vertical. Also always use a thermostat with a heat pad, there are a lot of horror stories where it has overheated and burned reptiles. The foam should be fine just make sure it sets for a long time and make sure the lizards can’t eat it. Overall pretty cute.

She's the type of girl to know fish have gills to breath air but don't know they're supposed to breath underwater, like I don't get this girl, she knows the leopard need heat, means she did her reaserch but she manage to messed up the tank size? And knowing they need heating mat means she also know the apropriate temprature for leopard geckos but she put it on top of plastick foam

PLEASE DONG USE HEAT MATTS THERES ONLY CONS WITH THEM! Don't crowd the tank so much! The branch didn't need the foam it was fine by itself! That stuffs toxic for the animal, also Make sure to check that your substrait is good for the type of Lizard you are putting in!

Not only is a heat mat in the terrarium a bad idea(leads to bad burns if not monitored), that spray foam is not reptile safe, they clay needs to be seal coated before going in the enclosure, and last but not least that is not the correct type of enclosure for a leopard gecko. They lake alot of ground space. They don't need climbing room.

Warning: Do NOT use dirt in ur gecko’s or lizard’s tank or area that they live in bc if they see the insect on the dirt they will hunt the insects and when they eat there will be dirt on the insect and the gecko or lizard will start to slow down and die bc the dirt wont go down their throat and that is why it build up each time they eat and they will die!

That tank is good for the baby leaperd gecos but for adult it needs to be at least 20 gallons but it looks good, I have a leaperd geco that looks like that too her name is Ash and her brother Mango and they are both baby’s as well and they share a 40 gallon tank and they are so sweet and cute 🥰

A crestie is much better suited for this type of setup. And they don't even need a heat mat. Leopards, even tho they climb sometimes, would much rather have a bunch of length as opposed to the height.

Dont put heat mat inside the tank because i can cause some damage to your reptile with lots of burnes on your reptiles scales also forgot to mention that tank is way to small for that gecko you need lots of space for it so they have alot of hiding spots and i recommend a 20 gallon tank

I thought that would be perfect for mourning geckos but no you have a LEOPARD GECKO in a small arboreal tank when the need a larger terrestrial tank, you put a heat mat in with no way to regulate it, gave it a tropical substrate, gave it a loose coconut hide that is right next to the other hide, used a unlabeled clay brand which showing your neglect of doing any research whatsoever it can be assumed it’s unsafe, and you didn’t show any evidence of using uvb

Designing and decorating seems to make you happy and proud. And thats fine. But that enclosure is far too small. Dont be proud of yourself putting any animal in this small enclosure!

Few things wrong with this set up but it does look good the size is all wrong for a Leo they like to stay on the ground so need more floor then height would be better for a baby crested gecko with a few adjustments. The expanding foam isn't great but can be covered with a layer or 2 of aquarium silicone then you can paint with pet safe and water resistant paint. Remove the heat mat and tape it to the outside where the gecko can access or cover with a glass panel to keep pet safe also in all cases get a heat probe that can regulate the temp. Other then that it's looking really cool :) my knowledge is from building my own houses for my geckos and lots of time and research into safe environments for reptiles :)
