I don't think they switched sides from The8 to Kazuha because they thought he wouldn't win, I think it's because they were embarrassed at how competitive/stubborn he was being, wanting to compete until the end. The8 loves challenging himself and it probably wasn't any disrespect to Kazuha but his pride made him try. The other members probably wanted him to let it go because 82cm is already a hard height and Kazuha passed it pretty easily, but Eisa wouldn't give up.
