Please take a look at the bottom right corner of your London Town quilt block as it appears to have some piecing upside down. Otherwise, the quilt block looks fantastic.
I did some "madness Monday" on Saturday evening. Actually sat down and made some written plans on finishing some projects! One of those is to complete my "Autumn Wonders", still have quilting to do on it and binding. Gonna try to get a bed cover done for one of my sister's and a quilt for my other sister using "Oh, My Stars" pattern. All I can say is I better get busy!! I had like 6-7 things to complete. Blessings.
Hi Pat, don’t know if you are aware there are two errors (small!) in the pattern. Went to Nicola Dodds website and there are two changes made after printing the pattern! I’m going to be doing this one and was looking at other things she’s done! Ordering my book from Amazon! Thanks for showing me how nice this pattern is!
I to do the checker board quilts. All thanks to you. So far I made a blue and white, two all different colors and just finished a green and tan one. Which still needs to be quilted. I love love love your chiffon one. Now doing a 3 1/2” scrappy one.
Oh I love the pear quilt, it is so beautiful! Oh I love the first block of London Town! Can't wait to get started on mine. I ordered the book from Amazon. I'm still deciding on fabics from mu stash.
Wow! Really like that block. I wasn't able to visualize it from the fabrics but LOVE it!!! ... AND the background! This is going to be fun watching you put together😊
Im from London town...Ontario, Canada 😂 the block looks huge! My Dad was Anglican so will have to look up what my London 's " cathedral " is though really thinking put my own ⛪ 😊. Checkerboard day I ❤ checkers the game! I cut 2 1/2 squ. all the time but don't have a color comb yet. I made a note from Aug 22 show that its a 16 block. Cross stitch hedgehog 🦔 🥰 better throw some stitches in mine .
I pieced all 18 pear 🍐 blocks at a retreat this past weekend. Thank you for the color inspiration, I love ❤️ my blocks! So many sew and flip corners, OMG 😂
Omg. I love how the London Town block came out. Perfect fabric choices!! That pear quilt top looks fantastic. I love how it came out. Wonderful video. It made me smile the whole time!
I love the pear quilt- it will be so beautiful when finished. I also think the London Town quilt will be a show stopper. I so enjoy watching your show and have learned so much from you. Thank you!
Lovely London block #1 but bottom right of tower is flipped upside down. I am still on the fence about buying the book but I probably will. I’d make this quilt for my youngest son because he is a quilter and he lives in Twickenham and works in London. He almost always brings me Liberty Fabrics when he visits the USA!😍
Last month I was in London and made a trip to the Liberty store. It wasn’t what I expected. It’s like a tiny Harrods with a smallish fabric section on the 4th floor. I found the selection very limited. They had a lot of Liberty novelty trinket things like pin cushions, sewing kits and books. Not much in the way of kits which is what I was looking for. They had a few precut 5” square packages. Maybe it was the time of year being end of summer beginning of fall. However I’m glad I went. I was able to pick up a smallish wall hanging. I’ll look into ordering online directly.
When I do a quilt with like blocks I go through all the fabric pieces and pair them up before I start to sew. It mmakes my sewing go so much faster. Love your channel and all you do!❤
Just got my book today , I’m really excited. I also have a small tub of Liberty Fabrics and I’m gonna use them. I may not be able to keep up but I’m gonna try. Thanks for the idea! I think your bottom right is upside down 😊
Pat, I am catching up with your videos, after being away for a week or so, I love the London town block 1 looks wonderful, so much so that I think I have to do this one with you if it is a slower pasted SAL. I need to download the book now!!! thank you Judy
Oh Pat, your Westminster Abbey looks great in blue! I love how you change up the colors because it gives us a look at what the possibilities of a block/quilt could look like in different colors! I would have searched for the fabric similar to the original than it’s just a replica although it would look fabulous. Now my mind is thinking of the colors that I can make the quilt with because yours looks fantastic! Such eye opener for me. Thank you for giving me the key to open the door of numerous possibilities that will make my quilt just as beautiful as yours. Hugs ~Martha San Jose, California
I just love this Westminster Abbey block so much that I went onto Amazon and ordered the book straight away, after checking prices as I’m in Australia and buying from FQS or even Nicola’s shop the shipping is so expensive🥺I would so much prefer to support the shops but for some items it’s just not feasible at present. I can’t wait to start the SAL I’m excited now, I also have some Liberty fabrics and Tilda fabrics you are a great enabler Pat keep it up😉🌼💙
Question about Plot Twist. Are the background corners sew and flips, so I get a bunch of leftover HSTs? If so, I would love it. Love, love, love London Town. I may have to get crackin' and get my fabric organized. ❤❤❤
Love your London Tower block! It makes me want to join in. But I can't as I' doing a 12 week intense quilting class with tons of homework. Thank you for sharing! P.S. Are you going to do Wendy Sheppard's Hat Day quilt? It looks like mushrooms! I'm adding it to my list.
I'm behind on my video watching & haven't read all the comments, but those little odd pieces you sewed to test the needle-look like little vases to me 😊😊 I've heard of Microtex but are they just a sharper needle?
Morning Pat, I’m so with you with not doing repeated blocks, so boring. I’m very, very intrigued with the Liberty of London quilt, your first block is looking amazing. I’m going to look into getting the book, we went and stayed in London and loved it. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to seeing more of your projects. 👍❤️🙂
I have to say, did u intentionally do the bottom one on the right opposite or is the bottom section accidentally reversed?? Like the bottom right has two long strips, it is not the same as the bottom of the left tower? Anyway looks good as is for sure. I have one piece of lawn I bought at a specialty fabric shop, I think I need to buy more, excited about seeing this quilt come together!
