Fern, I have loved and have watched your videos for the past two years. Never have I seen your face light up as much as it has since your new place. You even smile brighter and exude so much happiness. It suits you perfectly, keep up the greatness!!!
for your bowl you can just buy a transparent plate or a candle plate(not sure of the official name). it is so much cheaper , and probably better for the environment than yet another plastic thing
A fridge on wheels?? Where have i been?? 😂 I have been looking for a manjula for so long!! For some reason just me no one seems to have them, happy to see yours looking so good! I bet it'll love the water:))
Your new place is so cute! Unruly anthurium petioles usually means they are looking for more light but also they are pretty good about trying to grow to avoid hitting their own leaves and they kind of like to have way more space than you’d think. I wouldn’t worry about it too much though. It’s pretty normal 🪴✨❤️
Yay, so pleased you’re using beneficial mites, after a first introduction to spider mites I’ve been using beneficials as preventative and so far (3 months in) no bug issues through spring and start of summer in the uk. Lots of bug shops offer bigger packs for outbreaks too, that could help jump start getting on top of the bad bugs.
Yes! Yes! Yes! A low planty shelf along the back of a couch is always the best solution! I did the same with mine and it completely transformed the space, as well as blocking out that vast back-of-couch area (any excuse to introduce additional surfaces for plants!!!). Thank you for this wonderful video, Fern 🥰
Fern, I’m admiring all your plants in your house, outside your cabinets. I’m wondering what your humidity and temp is during the summer? Such beautiful plants!
🥰 Only 3:41 minutes in, but I just had to say that I love how the ikea shelf divides the 2 rooms with those beautiful plants. Now back to the video :) Here's to motivating you to put those shelves together 😛
Everything looks so good! I happy you have so many windows. If I could make a small suggestion-paint the shelves next to your milsbo wide black. Then the cabinets and shelves would look like one unit.
i love these kinds of vids, feels like you're visiting a plant friend and they're showing you everything they're excited about💚 also, could you not just like flip the bowl that your begonias in and put a cute plate under it or something? itd save you fifty bucks lol
I love your new space and how everything is coming together!!! I was excited to see your hoyas blooming ❤ Also you might have another active growth on the last philodendron you showed us? I just saw a tiny bright green dot 😂 But I really do want to see what the hallway plant shelves will look like! 💚✨
Omg everything is just so beautiful! I love how you've got everything arranged. You look so happy and that just means so much. I've watched all your videos and seen all your struggles. To see you so happy and bubbly again does my heart so much good. You so deserve to be happy. Thank you again for sharing your plant journey and your life with us. Your love for life and your passion for plants sparks the same love and passion in me and I'm sure many of your viewers. Thank you. And yes I would love to see you build your new shelves. Can't wait to see that. Again congratulations on your beautiful home and your renewed relationship. I am so very happy for you, Shane, Olive, and Cadence ❤ Much love from my family to yours❤
Encore merci !!! 🍀
Hey fern, i love calathea warscewiczii, actually my fav one also. It has indeed been a spidermite magnet, i still havent been able to get it under control after about 2 yrs. I’ve frequently cut it back to prevent the mites from spreading which is heart breaking. All in all im looking fwd to an update on using the beneficial bugs🤞. Also i could be wrong but is yours pulling away from the light? The leaves look as tho they’re retracting which is an indicator that it’s receiving too much light. Mine flourishes (when the mites aren’t abundant lol) in a lower light setting. Hoping this is helpful. Your anthurium pallidiflorum is incredible!! 2 flowers & a massive leaf means she is definitely happy🙌💚💯 Super curious to know if the diatomaceous earth works for the browning on your aurea! Great video as always! Love the new set up and thrilled that your plants are doing so well🙌💯. Appreciate your insight💚
When I moved into my apartment, my fridge kept moving, too. My landlord had a guy come in and I joked that he must be the fridge exorcist...LOL. Ends up the legs/wheels weren't level, so he adjusted them by turning them and now it stays put.
Hi Fern 💫 So happy to see another video of how happy you and your plant babies are!! You mentioned browning on your leaves and silicon is it? I watched a video from Sheffield Plants and he said he uses a fish water conditioner (stress coat?) and it has stopped all the browning of his sensitive leaves. Maybe check out that video, and I apologize if I got the name of the product wrong but I’m pretty positive that’s what it was. Looking forward to the plant shelf video soon. 🙏🏻💫
Since you have such good light in your living room you should consider a terrarium coffee table. I saw a TikTok from Littleprinceplants and took inspiration. Added gaskets so I could have high humidity plants in a fairy garden terrarium. Obsessed! Love your space so far! It is inspiring me to add more plants throughout my house.😅
You need a console table next to the living room window instead of the round one, then you’ll have room for a coffee table, and of course I’d attach light bars under the console table for plants underneath! You’re Canadian too! Awesome eh? I just did my first online purchase, Hoya compacta and Phil pink princess! Can’t wait to watch them grow!
Your plants are just beautiful!!!! They seem so happy and so do you! Since you have spider mites now, don't you have to treat them right away to prevent damage to your beautiful plants? I need to read up on the beneficial mites. Will be interesting to see if they help. Where is Olive? I haven't seen her in awhile. Yes, I would like to see you assemble your plant shelves. Maybe do a Q & A with it. You had used som sulfur on some plants that left spots on them, did it help any or just leave you with spotty plants? I will watch as many videos as you put out. Love then all! ❤❤❤
I know it's been a few months since this was uploaded, but wanted to suggest something! The next time you are air layering a plant that has already been chopped (like the Painted Lady in this video), see if you can attach it to something to keep it upright - like the side of a shelf, even a wall. That way it won't curve and all the leaves will look nice when you go to pot them up. I did this when I chopped my big Red Emerald a couple years ago, using plant velcro to attach it to a shelf. Fixed the curve and it looked so much better!
I had to pause your video to reposition my Hoya Mathilde when I heard you say that you had moved yours away from so much light and now it’s growing better and has darker leaves. I’ve struggled with mine and I’m hoping I can get mine going. I also moved my Retusa after seeing all your trailing plants. I always have to move things around when I watch your videos. Thank you 😂😂😂
I have an alocasia zebrina and I CANNOT get it to thrive! I've tried tricks I've seen in your videos but he's just being a stubborn brat! Lol (I even actually considered sending it to you to save it!)
Yes yes yes def do a shelving video...this is such perfect timing as I've just rearranged my plant setup and both my hubby & younger daughter reckon I should put up shelving. So I need to see your set up so as to be inspired/motivated to try it out. Plant real estate in my place is seriously limited so I need ideas so please please make that video Fern! 🙏🏼🪴💚
I also have a Calathea warscewiczii I bought from cotsco really small and its massive now, I found it really likes terracota pots. I just water it whenever the leaves look curly. I put osmocote fertilizer not so long ago and it prefers it over the liquid one. Its recently giving me huge leaves, definately a game changer.
For the raven zz, I think the pot might be too small? Mine doesn't like to grow unless it has plenty of space for the rhizome/tuber to form, grow, and then push up above the soil surface. Mine only gave me one new stalk this spring, so I knew it needed a repot and 5 more popped up within a few months.
Your matilde is my plant goals! One of my favorites but mine is suffering right now from rot so I'm rehabbing her. I can't wait until mine looks like yours.
I have a lacunosa in my kitchen window that has bloomed 3 times from the same peduncle in the last 4 months! It is the only Hoya that has ever bloomed for me though. LOL
Hi Fern! their is defiantly breaks on the fridge lol. Most have rubber stoppers at the front wheels that you need to twist down to the floor and the fridge will then not move! Soo excited for you and your new place!
Fern your home look soo relaxing and comfy is so beautiful im a single mom of a special need son and my goal is to buy a home before i turn 50 im 45 now i want like a 2 bedroom lil house 🎉🎉❤❤❤
Perfect timing ❤ I love this type of video ☺️ My boyfriend travelled out to Vancouver yesterday & he’ll be out there for almost 2 weeks.. I stayed home with our frenchie 😢 I’m hoping I can get him and/or his plant-loving father to stop into some plant stores for me before he comes back to NS 🤣
u might want to get something to hold ur records in cause the way they currently are u are at rist of them warping just saying . by the way love ur plants
Hi Fern! So, I haven't checked in with your channel in a while, but I did know you were getting a new house from your Patreon blog from like a month ago. Now I'm so excited to catch up with all your videos and get acquainted with your new house! Gah, so excited for you. You deserve it! ✌️🌱
Hey Fern, I am a new Subscriber! And I love your videos and plants. I'd like to see a shelving video. Also, what happened to your monkey tail cactus? Thats how I discovered your channel lol
monkey tail has been enjoying outdoor life for the summer! it even bloomed a couple of weeks ago. I will show it again soon :) thank you for subscribing x
