Hello everyone, welcome to the unplanned way!
In This Jabalpur City Tour Video, We are showing you all our favourite 7 places to visit in Jabalpur as tourists.
Jabalpur City is located in the Humble State of Madhya Pradesh.
Jabalpur is a very stunning city that sits on the Banks of the Divine River, Narmada.
You can reach Jabalpur by air, train, or by road. The nearest airport is Jabalpur Airport and the nearest station is the Jabalpur railway station.
Let’s explore the best places that You Must Visit in Jabalpur.
Bhedaghat Marble Rocks
To begin with, our first 3 spots are located in Bhedaghat which is situated 25 km from the main city of Jabalpur.
Bhedaghat is a popular site among Families as well as Solo Travelers.
The marble rocks on the Narmada River make for a 3 km-long gorge. Tourists can opt for a boat ride through the high cliffs made of marble. You will get to view the mesmerizing marbles in different shades up close. This place has been featured in several Bollywood Movies.
The boating is open from 10am to 5 pm and is closed during monsoons.
Chausath Yogini Temple
Chausath Yogini temple is an ancient temple constructed in the 10th century. It is located near the Marble rocks in Bhedaghat. It has a distinct resemblance to the temples of Khajuraho in structure. It is the abode of Goddess Durga. You have to take several steps to reach this temple.
Dhuandhar Waterfalls
Your trip to Jabalpur is incomplete without a visit to Dhuandhar Falls. These 30-meter-high magnificent falls are located on the Narmada River and make their way through the marble rocks. The plunge of the Dhuandar waterfall is so powerful that its roar can be heard from a far distance.
There’s a cable car service available where you get to see the other side of the waterfall. Entry to see the waterfall is free of cost.
Madan Mahal Palace
Rani Durgavati Fort, also known as Madan Mahal, is situated atop a hill where you will have to take about 100 to 150 steps to reach the fort from the main road where you park your vehicle. The Madan Mahal Fort dates back to the 11th century.
The history of the Madan Mahal Fort goes back to the reign of the Gondwana kings. This fort was considered the pleasure palace of the tenth Gond King Madan Singh. He was one of the sons of Rani Durgawati.
At present, this fort is maintained by the Archeological Survey of India.
The timings of this fort are 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
Balancing Rock Jabalpur
Just a few steps away from the base of Madan Mahal Fort, You will find a Geological wonder - The Balancing Rock. Balanced on top of one another, it is believed by the locals that nothing can disrupt its balance. There have been many earthquakes but nothing changed the orientation or position of these rocks. Isn’t that magical?
Bargi dam
Bargi Dam is one of the beloved Jabalpur tourist places.
It is an earthen dam constructed over the river Narmada to serve a wide range of activities and manage the flow of the river to generate hydroelectricity. Bargi dam has a height of 226 feet and it extends over a length of 5.4 km. Bargi dam remains open for visitors from 10 AM to 6 PM. Entry inside the Bargi dam is free for all tourists. But if you wish to go for cruise rides, you need to buy a ticket. You can also enjoy boating activities at this spot.
Narmada Arti at Gwarighat
The Narmada river maha aarti takes place at Gwarighat from 7 pm onwards. During the evenings the entire ghat area transforms into a picture book setting as diyas and lamps light up around the river banks.
This Narmada Aarti Jabalpur is a miniature version of the famous Ganga Aarti that takes place in Varanasi.
A full video of this immersing Aarti experience is available on our channel. The link will be in the description box.
Well, those were the top places that you must visit while in Jabalpur. Please let us know in the comments below if you would like a detailed itinerary of our Jabalpur trip.
