MCA (Music Corporation of America) was also a talent agency that contracted to make TV shows in the 1950's. Its president, Lew Wasserman, was, in his time, one of the most powerful men in Hollywood. MCA also distributed Universal and Paramount films for television because, at that time, the studios could not do it themselves under the 1948 "Paramount decree". MCA and Universal-International created Revue Studios in the mid-50's, teaming MCA talent with U-I's production facilities. Most of their shows ended up on NBC. MCA bought the nearly-bankrupt Universal in 1962 and kept it well into the 90's.

The globe logos usually said Universal, not MCA. When did that change? Also, I do not recall seeing the ones that said "Universal Studios" or "A Universal Production" When were those used?

You left out Studios USA, which, as you may remember, produced and distributed all (or most) of Universal's television fare from 1998-2002.

Miscellaneous

I was creeped out when a local TV station had Spanish versions of "Leave It to Beaver," "Tales of Wells Fsrgo,"'and others....there were actually 3 closing logos strung together, running 32 seconds or so. First was the long Revue like at 3:00 here (but with white background & info in Spanish on top as the Revue logo shrank). Second was I guess an acknowledgement of MCA TV in Spanish text, with violins, ending in trumpet fanfare. Last was the Universal Globe, with Spanish text over it, something about Los Angeles/Universal City---and the music started with the "The Virginian" go-to-commercial break music, and then the abbreviated Revue/Universal Esquivel tune. No, I don't drink.
