This is a tough match. The Riptides I played were all on the aggro variant, I think that's slightly easier with only 12ish traps, and we block well. I play a lot as riptide, so that helps with the matchup. 1 - if they have not used collapsing trap, then prioritise a slow game and getting Spirit out. 2 - Sometimes swing in attaxks like bolting blade for vanilla damage. 3 - play soulbond to guard you from trap damage each turn 4 - force them to have it when you're playing your game as well as possible. Sometimes you need to V or Lumina, do it at a time where it's statistically unlikely they have a turn ending trap! 5 - Don't forget you can react to their reaction. For example if they play buzzsaw trap to stop your turn, you can use boltyns ability in response to give your attack go again before buzzsaw resolves. 6 - last but not least, pretend they don't exist and hope to dodge the 1/2 Riptide players in a big tournament!
I think that oasis checks the name of the source of damage for prevention, so it prevented 3 for the first bolt and 1 for the second since the sources had the same name...
I'm not entirely sure. Because they are 2 seperate sources of damage ala runechants - all the same name but oasis will only stop one of them. I could very well be wrong, it happens from time to time hehe. I'll find a judge at some point!
I like your videos and I like to be inspired by them for my decks, but since I usually only play Blitz here, it doesn't really work. Do you have a suggestion for a good Boltyn Blitz deck?
Hi there, thanks for the kind words. I wish I could give you some help but Blitz is unknown territory for me. I'd keep it low cost style like this deck so you don't NEED to spend multiple turns building soul since it's a quicker format with less time to set-up. I'd imagine 2x of the main cards (V, Lumina, Beacon), some bannerets and the ability to go off at any point so Blossom of Spring instead of Tunic?! I could be way off here.
Oasis should not work like that, there is one circumstance where it does and that is against the same weapon attacking multiple times. It chooses A single Source
Yea remembrance comes in for dori and dash. Getting back a couple v of the vanguards is great. Against Kassai I find it more of a race than fatigue match up. But againsr these turtle decks you have lots of set up time. their only disruption being cnc so play patiently and prep those V turns!
