Since Grapp's relying on Gwen for the healing he could have turned her into the carry. Give her the item that grants +1 damage to skills and spells so she'll be healing equivalent to her attack once she levels up.
Fair enough. I think I got lucky getting the item early on and enjoying it with Jhin and the rest of the gang. Also not farming for it's not being stubborn, I also prefer dueling over PoC and only play it when new stuff comes out or need a rest from the meta.
the AI setting(my guess) is: if the player atk but still have the atk token -> the AI only block if it a good trade (even if they lost). so yep probably just a small spot the dev miss while making it
the play is to go with a low cost champion... give it (add random champions) and the (-2 cost champions and +1/+1) relics and hope you get a nice champion with a good item. If you level it high enough you can even add a third relic. Managed to beat it with 0 star Tahm and Galio as a support champion... I bet with champs like teemo or elise its easier.

The reason why usually it's hard to draw the card you want is because in POC you'll have a lot of random cards. That's why usually you want to go to heart nodes not to heal but to cut cards.
But sometimes he doesn't read well enough when it comes to powers + items synergies, but then again asol run is about 1 turn and him not having even 1 star is pretty rough
