01/25/2023 Medford Working House Fire 

House gutted by fire in Medford on Wednesday January 25, 2023.
At least two firefighters and a civilian suffered minor injuries and were transported to local hospitals after a fire broke out in a Medford residence at approx. 9:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Medford 2nd Assistant Chief Ryan Melcher was in command of the scene. Firefighters were met by a fully involved house fire upon arrival. Chief Melcher requested mutual aid from surrounding dept.'s which included Yaphank, Coram, Hagerman, Farmingville, North Patchogue, and Holtsville.
The fire was declared under control at approx. 11:00 a.m. Unconfirmed reports are that two dogs, and a cat, perished in the blaze. The fire marshals office is investigating.
