Unfortunately, autotune. She has a beatiful voice but the times I've seen her live, it's not near as good as in the album. But to be fair, it would be incredibly difficult for any singer to sing like this, and compared to other autotuned pop music, this is thousand times better.
This song retells the episodes that neared the end of Volume 3 of RWBY. Firstly, "Die" as in Pyhrra. "Not every wound is healed by time" as in Yang's arm being sliced. "We looked to a happy ending" because well have you seen what happened in the ending?!
Man, remember the Beacon/Poser days...RWBY felt like a very different show at the time. That, and I radically changed as a person over the last 6-7 years.
I think I actually like this album more than the last volume of the show. So much story and exposition in all of the songs, and they sound great. Awesome job Jeff and Casey~ ^^
Heather Simmer Yeah, don't sing these songs. Or listen to them without headphones. Or at all mix them with socialization. They're just too angsty, too easy a target to mock.
When you think about almost every piece of music in RWBY is either very important to the story, or is very deep and tells about the world we live in now... and I love it!
This is probably the most dark song in RWBY... EDIT:After listen to Sacrifice this looks innocent though this in a way sounds like Genocide at some points
Casey lee Williams is the only person singing in all of these songs, but my mind is still able to match her voice to the four main characters depending on the song. For example When it falls-Blake Mirror mirror-Weiss Ruby-time to say goodbye Wings-yang It's amazing she was the perfect person to sing these
Is it bad that now all these years later after volume 9 and Rooster Teeth shutting down I still think this fight with Roman in the Paladin mech was one of if not the single best choreographed fight in the entire series?
Honestly to me it looks like this song is Yang's reflection back on everything after the events at the end of volume 3. although i personally feel like her claiming revenge is a little out of her character, but i mean if someone cut off my arm i'd want revenge too. And I'm pretty sure I'd hate them as well. But i think the song is also talking about everyone's hate increasing in general, as well as their mistrust. Cause in "Divide" I think it was, it talks about the truth of things. So does Time to Say Goodbye. I mean, if you take it literally, "not every open wound is simply healed by time" kinda fits with how Yang is acting with her arm. I feel like that would be her take on it. Also "they shined like gold" I feel like is a pretty strong reference to Yang. Plus it played when she was fighting if that amounts for anything.
Yang is probably the most likely person to claim revenge out of team RWBY. I don't get why you'd think that's out of character for her. Yes, after some time, Yang gets mopey about her arm. But if she'd been in any kind of shape to fight after losing it, she would have torn Adam's head clean off.
The reason is because when they made Yang's character, RT said that they wanted her to be the "mother" of team RWBY and shes supposed to be nurturing. Plus she said that with her mom she wouldnt let that search control her, so i feel like she wouldnt let revenge control her either. Not that I think it wouldnt be badass for her to claim revenge, i think itd be well deserved and awesome, but I'd be the surprised considering shes supposed to be one of the most fun-loving characters in the show. Given, theres more to her character than that and she has some really dark shit shes had to deal with but I feel like shes smarter and stronger than to blindly go and take vengeance on him. I feel like she would primarily be more upset with what happened with Blake leaving her. Although I do agree that if she got the chance she'd totally rip his head off. The pic that has been going around of Yang having just killed adam was my desktop wallpaper for a while lol
+Xilent 00 SPOILER ALERT Well she WAS one of the most fun-loving characters, but after the events in the second half of Volume 3, Yang has been crushed both physically AND definitely emotionally. Though I'm sure she'd love to get another crack at Adam for what he tried to do to Blake, I fear she may target her former classmate first for "ditching" them. And she has MUCH more reason to bash Blake than Neo, or even Adam. The latter were her enemies, the former was supposed to be her friend. Being abandoned by Blake was more painful for her than being maimed by Adam, basically her whole world has come crashing down. And since she didn't have a strong reason to rise again, like the rest of her teammates, her spirits remained crushed. Her Volume 4 design shows she's still broken after what happened in the previous volume, as she's shown in a somewhat bland gray jacket, with matching cargo pants and white sneakers. Her youthful exuberance is replaced with a more dour outlook, evidenced by her expression. So she won't be recovering fully in this Volume, at the very least. Which is a real shame, but it's very realistic, something I praise RT for, not going for the traditional quick fix seen in most manga today.
I was introduced to RWBY(and RoosterTeeth) through this soundtrack. We were doing some shit in LA class that involved music.. and some kid played this... first RWBY song I listened to.. I couldn't believe what I was missing.
That moment when Ruby explains Yang's power, Yang gets up from the ground with the overall feeling of "I've had enough of your shit now" and this song drops. Goosebumps every fucking time.
The song says "Enemies are rising, hate is flowing. Shattering the moon and bloodying the sky." The song mentions the moon numerous times. Its got me thinking that the violent white fang had something to do with the destruction of the moon.
Ryan McGowan I watched it, loved the ending, regretted being not only a RWBY fan but a Bumbleby fan as well. The bees are dead, the hope is dead, Beacon is dead, s'all some bullshit.
Yang was the only one training while they were separated and RWBY (kind of). I wonder if it'll show especially since yang was already the strongest member.
in my opinion neo is one of the hottest rwby characters in the entire series mainly because of that really small and stretchy tanktop atached to the pants

Can't wait for further seasons to get to the bottom of this song. Judging from every other song, this probably contains foreshadowing to someone's past...The war...maybe Oz and Salem?
So, this must be Cinder Fall's song, right? With the name and the clinking heels (glass slippers) she's obviously some kind of Cinderella analogue. So, going by the Cinderella story, and the themes in this song, she lost everything, but when she did there was no fairy godmother to help her, no Prince Charming (Neptune? j/k) to win her heart. So she set to getting payback for all the wrongs against her. It's probably very symbolic that she made her own dress for the "ball" as well.
Kitty Wizard Actually it's a more like a Dynasty Warriors and not like an Arc System game but I don't care, IT LOOKS AWESOME! and I like Dynasty Warriors but I would like a Platinum, basically Metal Gear Rising with RWBY characters would be awesome!

at first i didnt like her because i thought her design was stupid looking (and i still do, im a fan of simple realistic designs) but then i grew to love her in her fight with yang she is such a troll when she fights its great i hope she stays mute it fits really well with her attitude
+Shirogane_7 after paying close attention to the lyrics, you are in fact correct. almost foreshadowing when you look back on it. it fits volume 3 episode 9 very well.

brian kayer There was a whole team of animators behind the show. He was merely the creator and story writter. It was said in a podcast or something, maybe a panel that he had told people what would happen in the story for a long time to come. The third season, in fact, is supposed to air in August.
