I wore this cassette tape da fuq out back in the day. Classic. I saw Ice Cube perform at The Octagon nightclub in New York back in 1992 on the same bill as Lord Finesse and The Fu-Schnickens. What a great night.
Ice Cube is an absolutely genius writer. His lyrics are super memorable, impactful, meaningful, and just sound great. Few people have written rap as well.
Yeah, As Memorable As The Song he did Titled Cave B!#Ch. I always used to wonder how I would feel if I was one of his white fans and I heard that song, ( would I still remain a fan. I Love Cube But honestly I think marketably that had to be one of the dumbest things he ever did.
@@berthadelone8573 mm i see your point but this kind of music should be listened with an objective ear .just put yourself in his place and when pain and art collide fuck the market thats gangsta rap it was created to be raw and offensive to bad shit happening never take it personal he is a genius
I remember watching KCAL- 9 TV channel in the afternoon in the early 2000s and regularly scheduled programming getting interrupted almost every day. One time in Compton, I was doing an errand at 8 am on a Wednesday at some municipal type thing. I was atop the several steps the entrance had, and I heard the rotors and then I heard the roar of a hoopty with 5 Latinos zooming down my street. I saw the driver's face all clearly, he looked like he had a plan. They nee- owwed by me closely enough that I could have pegged them with pieces of ice. I used to root for most of the drivers depending on their style, I especially loved it when they would take a route through their own hood and their neighbors or set were lining the sidewalks cheering.
You got me by a couple years, but getting to experience the 80's and 90's was great. Imagine being a kid today and instead of just running off to only God knows where on your bike and seeing so much new with styles of music, movies, videogames, sports, etc... Instead, you are stuck with your parents always checking in on you on your cell phone, your teachers explaining how women can have dicks, and everyone is all social awkward and retarded from being online nonstop... we lucked out
ICE CUBE SCARFACE AND TUPAC ARE THE BEST AT TELLING STORIES YOU REALLY FEEL THERE SONGS THOSE BEATS THEM BOYS TAKE YOU ON A JOURNEY WITH THEM BUT WHAT MAKES IT GREAT THEY CAN RAP
This song totally reminds me of the movie menace to society cos it’s played at the start of the film I must of bin about 15 when I watched it and I was already into rap music but this is next level music man. My girlfriend at the time bought me the menace to society soundtrack tape it’s probably the best present Iv had from a lass that really meant something I love ghetto bird❤.
For real. I grew up to this music. I can't listen to these new rappers that much. My teenage boys listen to NBA Youngboy, Migos, NLE Choppa...I can't get into it like Old School Gangsta Rap. I'm 43 yrs old also.
@@DS-fn7tr Ghetto Bird is funky, fun, adventurous and had you listening, bobbin ya head with a smirk on ya face! Really Doe had you had ya bobbin ya head making that stank face, lmao. I luv em both equally, but Really Doe is my Shit!!!! 🎶Ya got to belieeeeeve in something, why not believe in me!!! 🎶
My favorite part is him eating fish and watching Urkel(shows name was family matters 😂) and it’s unfortunate he had to pull the strap on that fool Lewis the third 😅
What other rapper dropped four classics in a row? I'll wait....... He probably would've had more if he didn't take a break to do movies. That caused him to lose his momentum in rap. Anyway, at least he gave us classic tracks like this to appreciate
Like all old school hip-hop rap music old school hip-hop mix music old school hip-hop jam music old school hip-hop 90s music old school hip-hop ICE CUBE-GHETTO BIRD
Ice Cube is funny as hell saying,“While I was eating fish and watching Urkel!”👓🤣 That’s must have been on a Friday night because Family Matters use to come on Friday night back in the day around ‘92-93! That’s was my favorite show when I was 8 years old!👍🏽
Literally one of the best instrumentals in rap music history. This shit screams Los Angeles early 1990s straight up mother fucking west coast. The good old days!!!
