Corey later on realized his life wasn't going so well that he decided to change his name and move to Philadelphia....rumor has it he opened up his own bar with his long lost sister and made 3 new friends

Everyone's saying how bad this is, but I actually found myself enjoying it. It had a good kinda cheesy 80s sitcom feel to it, which was I believe the intention of the writers, and the initial set up right in the beginning left me curious to know what was gonna happen. Really the primary problem is that the characters, particularly the main character, are pretty boring, but they're just underdeveloped like every other character is in the first season of every other sitcom. I think everyone, especially the main guy, who you can't get away with writing as a one-dimensional caricature (like wacky environmentalist sister, cool single dad, deep punk rock girl, quirky yuppy guy) would really develop if the show had been on the air longer.

This show's okay. It could have used better writing and better chemistry among the characters. Tuesday and Margaret make the show worth watching.

If this show wasn't cancelled we would have never knew who Dennis Reynolds was.

They went insane with the laugh track on this show.

I remember this show, the girl that played Tuesday was hot. Too bad it got canceled. It couldn't compete with that 70's show. It had potential but, the popularity of that 70's show blew it away.

The show wasn't nearly as bad as people made it out to be. I found myself laughing lots of times.

they should have done this better. And it should have come after 70's show ended. Its a great concept, the pilot was okey. But the characters don't seem to have any good connection and chemestry. And there are no good plots nor jokes. Its a great concept but poorly excecuted.

that80show Cory is considered to be the straight man. He has the non-comedic lines to set up the funny lines said by the other characters. That is what a sitcom is all about. There is always a character who is the one who sets up the jokes from the other characters.

I, like most others, made the mistake of coming to this show expecting it to be similar to That 70s Show :/

To the pagemaster That 80s Tube-- You say: "I thought the cast was good in this show. The actors and characters are all really funny, except for the main character. Why center a show on an uninteresting, unsympathetic character? Everyone else has fun comedic roles in the show." Look, Corey is supposed to be the straight-arrow every-man. I agree he's a bit dull and they could have embellished his character a little more... but the whole point is that everyone else on this show belongs in the "ME" decade except him. He's the not-oddman out. Someone for the others to play off of... And... he's not so bad. But the bright spot of this getting cancelled right away (for the real fans)... is that if it hadn't... well, it wouldn't be so "Sunny In Philadelphia." If you follow...

corey reacts to other people because hes the everyman character. hes supposed to be closer to blank so a wider audience can relate to him.

I hate that this show was canceled and didn't have the run of "That '70s Show".

One thing that I notice about this show is that it seems to use zoom-in shots and shaky cam quite a bit, which was rare for a TV show around this time. I actually think it works to good effect here.

This is one of the most underrated sit com ever. Characters are so natural that I have a (real) friend almost identical to each of them. The characters of 70s shows are instead completely farfetched (I hope this is the right word!)

I don't know but I love this. This episode was very good. I don't think I ever saw this show before but I hear it was disliked by everyone because That 70's Show was still a very good show when it first came out. If it had aired by the 7th season of That 70's Show, especially by that horrible 8th & final, this show might've survived. I like it so far, way better from the pilot episode.

With the new release of that 90's Show on Netflix I thought to myself hey I remember when they came out with that 80 show I want to say it was after the first or second season of That 70 show they realize how much success they had and wanted to cash in on it with this which I think is pretty funny few stars in the making on here which took me a whole episode to realize the sisters friend is Joe dirt's woman I don't know her name but coincidentally she also appeared in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia with Glenn Howerton who plays Cory on here and so far the show gives off a pretty good 80s vibe I say it's done better than that 90's show so far don't know how this didn't last a little bit longer I suppose there were too many similarities to that 70 show so at the time people viewed it as a copy but here I am 2023 watching it and enjoying it I'm just glad I remember the previews for this show when I was younger I don't ever remember actually watching it when it came out but for some reason the preview for it with that guy talking on the cell phone in the bar all excited because it was the brand new technology at the time that always stuck with me always remember that for some reason but now that I'm watching it I'm realizing that person didn't even have nothing to do with the series he was just a random dude in a bar but I think the mistakes they made on this show cost it the ultimate price of getting canceled because the Unsolved Mysteries guy playing a light-hearted Carefree dad didn't work a two of the front characters to be brother and sister is two similar to that 70 show however if you know when this show came out they actually did the record store with the burnout character who runs it before that 70 show did I'm guessing once this show got cancelled they used that Concept in that 70 show later on in the series which is kind of cheesy on that 70 shows part I'm guessing they assumed most people forgot all about this show by then but anyway we can't hold it against this show that the 70 show got lucky and struck gold with some of their characters like Kelso Fez and Jackie put this show could have definitely opened up if it had the opportunity cuz honestly season 1 of that 70 show is it all that awesome it's not until the show started to grow that it became what it was

The 80s were fun and shallow times...too bad this show only got the shallow part right....

No offense, but they both share a bit of blame for lying to each other. Corey lied about living on his own, & Tuesday lied about living in a place of her own. Thankfully, they apologized to each other and call a truce at the end. :-) I guess all's well that ends well.
