Great video, I live in Holmfirth myself and have done all my life, this video shows some of the lovely places surrounding our village, if you ever visit again be sure to go on some of the walks surrounding Wooldale/Scholes/Hepworth/Jackson bridge (I think that's what a previous poster meant to type and not Jackson ridge) Jackson bridge is where the pub scenes were filmed in the white Horse pub, all the villages I've mentioned are only 1 mile out of Holmfirth but are on the opposite side of the valley to where this is filmed, thank you for sharing this video, a lot of effort has gone in to this.
Thank you so much Lee for your lovely comments! I would like to return to your neck of the woods sometime soon as I'm not far away (Matlock). Thanks again. Cheers, Patrick :)
Wonderful video, thank you. It brought a sense of nostalgia to me. I lived in Holmbridge 25 years ago and walked those areas many times. Last went there in 2015 and found it little changed thankfully.
Thank you so much !!! Very professionally done. Great camera work. Loved this series and I'm American. The English countryside is astoundingly beautiful.
Thank you for this. Felt like i was walking along side you from my sofa in Quebec Canada. Im a huge Summer wine fan so thank you for showing off little places around Holmfirth.
Thanks to Solitary Rambler I'm visiting such beautiful places in England and I enjoy the sound of your voice , excellent lesson for me , thanks again :).
Beautifully produced and shot celluloid memento to this highly epigamic part of Yorkshire.I live in an ugly town in an even uglier and polluted city.Simply cannot afford to live somewhere as nice as this-possibly ever....x
Cities are cancer zones-a bunch of deaf, dumb anbd blind insects feeding upon an increasingly malignant tumour.I've been to Newquay and Bournemouth-something about the rugged haunting coastline-makjes you feel peaceful and at one with the Universe-unlike overflowing bubonic streets..xx
Takes my breath away I wS born and bred in yks and moved down south . Nothing down here like home tho . Miss it very much . And many a day I want to go home .!!!!😢😢😢😢
Thanks Gary! I appreciate your kind comments. Pleased you like the videos. I don't make them to sell I'm afraid. It just gives me a lot of pleasure when I know people like yourself enjoy watching them as much as I enjoy making them. Cheers, Patrick :)
The video shows much of the ground I regularly cover on my own walks around the Holmfirth area, but seeing it on this video brought it home (holme?) to me how fortunate I am to have access to such gorgeous countryside.
Congrats on the 14k views Patrick,I go here quite a lot as it's a lovely place,it's a year since I was ill and your superb films helped me through it in the early hours, your presentation, production and music along with everything else you do is second to none ,I love them,I'v watched every one and keep going back and choosing one to rewatch,I'v probably watched them all several times, was hoping for a short new year message to see how you were but if not just wanted to wish you a great and happy new year and hope that you find the time to make and share more with us,hope you are well and that things are going well with work and family, all the best and take care, Pete 👍
Happy New Year Pete, thanks as always for your kind comments. Nice to know my films were some comfort to you during your illness. I felt I had covered everything I wanted to say in my documentary I uploaded in October so I had no plans to do a New Year message. I've been away with family for Christmas and am still rough with a cold at the moment that everyone else I know seems to have had lately. There will be something to see before not too long hopefully so watch this space. Many thanks again Pete and I wish you well for 2020. All the best. Cheers, Patrick :)
@@solitaryrambler Sorry yes you did cover everything mate, just wanted to pass on my best wishes and glad to hear you are well, all the best and take care,Pete 👍
Another familiar area to us. In fact we only did a walk yesterday near Digley Reservoir not far in Holme Valley. Also crossed some of you routes. I liked the change of key midway in the musical arrangement. Some lovely melodic chords as well.
Thank you again for your kind words. Not been to Digley reservoir but that's one to do in the future. I do try and change key in music wherever possible as I feel that will hopefully keep the score interesting. All the best 😀
A great walk over moors so much to see in the Yorkshire Dales so much history and spectacular landscape.10th September 2020.takes me back to my Walking holidays and readings to tours at Haworth for reading tours from School Jane Aire and Animal Farm Great days in 1960s

How nice to see Holmfirth again I visited it in -1982 , with a friend and watched while filming took place out side café it was interesting even though the retakes seemed to take forever ,nice o see peter sallies and bill owen , we visted nora battys house an went for a pint in the pub , close to her house , turning right as you came down from her house ... I recall buying a cut glass for my mum with compo,s figure on it , nice memories Patrick , so thank you , I am fraid Lee isn't a fan of summer wine , some people don't get it , maybe its a fella,s thing getting out the way of the women folk ..... regards Frank and Lee ....
This is one of my favourites, and interestingly it's my highest viewed video, i.e. 1,334 views as I type this. I was never a Summer Wine fan either, like I said in the video I watched it more for the scenery really. Thanks for watching again Frank and Lee. All the best. Cheers, Patrick :-)

I have family in Holmfirth. beautiful countryside! I wish I was back there! I miss Yorkshire. My psychiatrist Mo wanted me to move there to get away from abusive neighbours.
Great video wish I was there with u that's my dream is to go there & of course win the lottery so I would have enough money to get there lol. Have a great day!
Solitary Rambler Ur welcome I'm gonna be watching ur other videos soon I subscribed to ur channel don't really know what that means to do that but I did anyhow lol.
I do all of it, i.e. filming, editing, music, research, narration, etc. Any other names credited on my films, i.e. Bob Morgan and Martin Roy are pseudonyms, which I have stopped using now as I want viewers to know that this is all my own work. So it is very much a solitary project :)
