We left Arizona and are driving into Silver City, New Mexico, to fill up on gas then we are headed into Gila National Forest. Just before we got to Silver City, I showed a mining operation and speculated that it may be a silver mine. It was not. The Tyrone mine is an open-pit copper mining complex approximately 10 miles south of Silver City.

Also Don't forget. New Mexico is the Real & True Volcano state!! Every type we have here. Super too. And Marrs. Only Found IN New Mexico!! And Yes. Our Volcanoes are Still Active!

Was Born There. My Mother worked the mines for 30 years. Yes. It is quite big! He missed the Ditch though. Such a History there.. In many ways. And Gila.. U don't say it with the G. Its More Said with a Hila.. We don't use it with the G around here. We say it Differently. Just How we are Brought up, I guess.

The hills are Copper gold and ore mines owed by Freeport Mcmoran that mine is called Tyrone Mine there another mine in Bayard called chino mine owned by the same company “Freeport”
