I think this is actually pretty damn good. It's got that Metallica crunch with the palm-muting of the main riff and it's got kick-ass backing vocals. Metallica has always kicked ass at covering other bands music.
You REALLY don't hear Metallica doing harmony vocals every day, do you? What can I say, it's actually surprisingly good. I wonder how many takes it took them :)
You know when you are in bar hoping to listen to a song and the dj plays the cover and you're thinking ''Fuck'',well that is not happening when this cover is played.
I think,in all fairness... The vocals aren't all that bad... Just think of the band differences As a whole. And vocalists opposite Styles. I'm sure vocally and musically it could be a ton Worse. James and Joey Have polar opposite singing Stlyes. Everything about the song Might annoy alot of people. But I'm sure they had fun Since you almost always See them sporting Ramones Shirts. At various times of Their career as a band. Might not be the best To most but whatever If they had fun being homage And respect to one of their Favorite bands. More power To them that's All that matters. Who knows maybe the Ramones Has a huge impact on them As their younger self. And Was one reason they wanted To get in to playing music. It's Just a tribute album. Not sure why people act so Mellow dramatic and or offended If you're not in into it. Listen To another track or another Album entirely ....
@@TheKyleMark Great. I'm realising just now after all these years! Then I took out my razor blade Then I did what God forbade Now the cops are after me But I proved that I'm no sissy
Easily Metallica's worst cover, recorded in-studio. James's vocals are just awful. He's doing that same thing he did for their cover of "Overkill", where he kind of tries to sing in the middle ground between his style and Lemmy's/Joey's style. It just doesn't work.
Damn right it is :P everyone played different things there, even Hetfield got lost. They didn't cared that much, i think. This is a one take from lazy guys.
