Great job Rune :) I knew you wouldn’t have tooooo many problems with it. Those two springs are probably the most commonly lost springs ever (thinking back I should have sent two more) Thanks for doing the videos! Also I sent the “new Schlage style cylinder” and the “old style cylinder” as an example of how crappy our cylinders are now compared to 40 years ago. If you take them both apart you will see the difference for sure. The pins and stuff are just extra in case you wanted to rekey it or whatever, each separate bag is pins for the different mfg’s including the “shim trimming” storyline from an old video :)
After seing all the softice sprinkle in videos, it was great to see quality pins. Look forward to rekey some locks. And everytime I get a dent in a shim, as we always deal with security drivers, I hear you say “Trim your shim”
I will find that spring, not like any doors or windows were open at the time. My desk is just a little Jeff Style at the moment, from pumping out videos, on top of normal locksmith work
Rune International since you got it all together you are now the proud owner of what was/is widely considered the best residential lock ever made in the US. Hopefully it can still claim a spot at the bottom of your collection if rated worst to best 😂
It is getting installed in a display stand. It is so great to have a complete item, that is not available over here. Btw is there any back and front on that bible ? Should have kept the videos private till Ronald and Keyless had made videos :)
Well Done -- I'm not sure many US locksmiths anymore would ever take it apart and, much less be able to put it back together, they just replace the whole thing. Actually an interesting, clever design in metal stamping & forming.

Pocket Women thanks for watching. If I delete the 3 learning videos, it would look like I had been working with those forever. But now you know why I think about these videos when I watched Tim LPP taking that lever set apart. There are insane many strange parts inside.

@@RuneInternational yes it was! There were a couple of times you did things out of frame but I was able to figure it out and overall it was invaluable 😊🙏
I used this video again today and got hung up because I put the thing that holds the springs (which you introduced at 2:55 and is apparently “slide, non-restoring” part # A590-159) facing the wrong way so I never got the plunger & button (part # 01-060) to seat correctly; I eventually caught my error when I was replaying it and at 3:58 said “oh that’s cute, it’s like a little M-shaped notch” and then realized the way I inserted that piece had that notch facing the other way. Just leaving a note here for myself/others/posterity. Thanks again for making it! (Part #s came from the Entrance Lock function page A53PD in the Schlage A-Series Service Manual)
ok update it is done! that was both crazy and fun! Thank you for the videos they where vary helpful and all your tips during the live at lpps ! i dont think im pulling it apart any time soon. lol my vary first full assembly of a doorknob lock set and while a little frustrating at times it was still really fun! and out of all the stuff i got in that box of winnings im positive i started with the hardest thing lol so only up hill from here although i have not tried to pick it yet lol!
Has anyone in the world ever thought that if it burns on the inside of a door with a knob, it is impossible to open the door because the skin `melts` off the hand!
And if we watched home alone, we know they can get very warm. But it is finally becoming more normal to install lever handles in America. And in some applications it is required by law.
