thank you for posting this !!! I love this kind of old school footage and just noticed this particular match was played 1 day before I was born. Cheers.
The great Yugoslavia that was just coming to the passionate generation of the 1990s Stojkovic, Savicevic, Boban, Prosinecki, Mijatovic, Zahovic, Mirkovci, Jarni, Bilic, Suker, the damned war is
Im 🇪🇸but i LOVE Yugoslavia They are my ídols team un my chilhood In the 80s I think the Football due one euro and 1 WORLD CUP to this Team . And Another is Netherlands
@@Perone915 if you see in the European clubs like in Germany, France, Holland, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Spain there were at least 2-3 players in every club and devisions in those countries.
Yugoslavia never won anything siriusly in football. Maybe something in sixties butin world cup or EU championsip not much to be how you said one of the best teams in world.
2:10 Was watching EPL football at the weekend. There seems to be a lot of giving the ball away/sloppy back passes from defenders these days. So there was Colin Bell doing it in 1974. Maybe things never do change.
The England team was flying in from Bulgaria, where they had played another friendly on this mini tour. The lads were in a boisterous mood (very likely pissed) during the flight, and at some point they started pawing air hostesses. After the plane had touched down, the captain reported the incident to the local authorities. While still at the airport, some of the players proceeded fooling about with present officers picking out some of the troublemakers. One of them was apparently Keegan. Some reports claim he was lashing out at one of the officers, so they took him to a room for questioning. Keegan left the room with a bloody nose some time later. When they eventually found out who Keegan was, the whole thing became political. The England football team even considered cancelling the match. Keegan who was quoted saying "I'm done with Yugoslavia for good", later was roommates with Ivan Buljan at HSV and would return to Yugoslavia nevertheless. Rumour has it this "scandal" helped two British citizens, who were accused of spying and detained in 1973, get released only months after this incident, pardoned by none other than Tito himself.

I'm writing from Trabzon in Turkey. I think the best of jugoslav football at that time, Dzalic katalinski was very good. legendary jugoslavia .. poland goalkeeper tomazewski had blocked the england and world cup 1974 could not attend ..
Cicero, yes Jan Tomashewsky Poland. Yugoslavia was all the time one of the best Tim's in their world. Cok guzel ounardy Yugoslavia. Ben bakariordum World Cup 1974. Cok zaman gecti. Selamler .
With Worthington, Keegan, Channon, and Brooking, add to that players like Hudson, Currie, Marsh, Osgood Hughes and England certainly had enough quality to compete in the 74 and 78 world cups
Slow paced football of seventies... poor covering of opponent, sloppy build up, as most of the matches at these times! A superstars of seventies would comfortably loose any game against today's gladiators full of strength and tactical cunnigness
Sam izbacio Hajduka protiv Saint Ettienna i PSV. Pozdrav
I'm an old git brought up on these players and looking at this I can't help but agree with the homily we see the past through rose tinted glasses. Some really crap football there from star England players. Sorry to all the modern players I berate for not being as good as those in the past I was talking bollocks
@@gunternetzer9621 Gunter Netzer's right foot - you I and quite a few others are well into are old school football and no mistake fella - so I've a question for you regarding West Germany and their striker Klaus Fisher - here it is - Why do you think it took Coach Helmet Schon so long to pick Klaus ? - erm I believe Fisher had played twice for the under 23rs going back as far as around 71 our 72 and with the international retirement of the one the only Der Bomber ( R I P ) the German's were by their standards struggling to score Goals - Blimey even England 🇬🇧 beat em 2 - 0 in 1975 - so Why do you think it took until 1977 before Fisher got his chance - scoring 11 times in his first 9 games - I believe there was some sort of " scandal " at his Club side Schalke 04 - is that it perhaps ? - Best Wishes bro from England .
