05 Honda Accord P0171 

Thank you so much I have been stumped for months replaced the O2 sensor 3 times since the cel light would come and go. Watched this video and checked my intake and it was ripped the same way.

Nice diagnoses . Some shops would have just thrown an o2 sensor at the problem only to have the light come back on .

Awesome just here watching. I noticed my 07 odyssey has a crack their as well probably not enough for the engine light to appear but I’ll be taking care of it soon. 149k still runs great

Well-done.. my light just came on.. got that code ..and yes I checked that air intake thing snd yes is cracked or broken on the bottom pars just like video shows just order ve here tomorrow and we'll go from there .. thanks

Nice video I just cleaned out my throttle body and idle air control valve and reseted the check engine light hoping it went away 😅

I went to go open the hood the second you pointed at where the code issue can be and sure enough I have 2 large cracks on it. Thank you for your helpful video!!

That's good to know just got this code although someone had previously installed an after market intake. Wonder if that's what's causing it.

Ive been doing a lot of mods to my 2010 2.4 accord and just recently got this code, checking everything you mentioned above myself. I have a cold air intake that was a junker someone added before selling me the car, changing that out now to a stage 2 Takeda and replacing the MAF sensor hoping that fixes my issue. she was running like champ just a day ago 😅

I just bought exact same car 05 Honda Accord 2.4 and this same code came through. It’s also pretty well preserved for 200k miles but it’s for sure worth putting money into fixing up for the engine alone. I looked in the same hose and it does have cracks in same spots.

My friends car had the same issue. Change the intake tube and the light came back 3 days ltr. Didn't hear or find any vaccum leaks.

Question: where exactly is “on” @ 0:41 . Is it just that air intake or is there other hoses behind the man a fold

I have this exact problem 04 Honda accord, exact same 2 place. Could not believe how many people below have it too. But also read that it did not always solve the code. I hope it will on mine. Btw on the airbox side of that hose i see a sort of circular metallic thin donut ring that is tight around the hose and no clamp or screws. Do you just pull on the hose or pry on that ring to pull it out ?

I have change the mass air flow senor, crankshaft position senor, had 2 misfire on 2 and 3 senor change plugs and the coil packs, No more misfire code, but the PO171 code has popped up twice in the last 2 days around the same time between 2 and 3 o’clock in the evening It a 2009 Honda Accord with 98,000 miles this is the first problem I have ever had with the car since I bought it in 2009. Thanks in advance for any info you can give me on this

Honda must have known about this issue. 06-07 Accord has a MAP sensor along with the MAF sensor that's only on the 03-05 generation. My 07 intake hose was like yours and it never threw a code. The fuel trim was within 10%.

im getting a 0171 on my 03 accord but it doesnt have a maf. the first sensor im seeing that measures air would be the map right at the throttle body. so having a leak before there wouldnt matter for me right?

The exact same thing happened to my 05 Honda Accord in the exact same spot with the exact same code

Just got the same code and had holes in the exact same spot. The tube was almost completely split in half.

I have 09 Accord 2.4 w/ 228k. Check engine light been on for a while, was told P0420, cat, but could still drive on it. Noticed my mpg getting worse so looked into it more. I did have a cracked intake hose but replaced that a few weeks ago. Getting P0171 Lean with secondary codes 0420. Recommended fix was to clean MAF. I did, unhooked battery to reset and light went off for a 250 miles or so. Back on. Think I need O2 sensor(s), cat, or just vacuum leak?

That seems to be a common problem with Hondas. I've replaced the one our 06 Accord twice now since we bought it new. Each time I buy a genuine Honda part. I guess they just dry rot.

All right I need your help on this one I actually even work at a shot myself and we're stumped so I have a 2004 Honda Accord but mine is the V6 6-speed model very well taken care of I just went through brand new belts brand new hoses brand new gaskets brand new seals everything except the intake manifold gasket brand new plugs brand new ignition coils brand new cats brand new O2 sensors all within the last couple weeks and I'm getting this code the gas mileage was bad from the code up until I did the O2 sensors yesterday now the gas mileage is fine but light came back on after 50 miles and I guess it's saying it could either be at too much air getting in the system like you suggested or our computer system at the shop also said it could possibly be fuel pump or fuel injectors which I doubt because the car runs amazing and only has 140k on it and I take religiously good care of this car but I also have an aftermarket intake that I've had on there for months so I doubt that's the issue it has a solid aluminum tube so it can't rip like your stock air intake tube so I'm not sure what it could be I'm literally stumped I mean the only things left that could cause this code are the intake manifold leaking fuel pump or fuel injectors but I don't think it's fuel related if my car runs good and gets good gas mileage
