By far, the best performance of this song. Surpasses the "Confessions" London concert years later where she just jumps around with an electric guitar. Here in Detroit she rocks the shit out it with this stomp-down, melt-down, kick-ass version.

People saying she cant sing haven't got a clue what they're going on about. She has the most recognisable women's voice in music. Not only that, but she's inspired about 90% of every female musician in music today and you don't do that by 'not being able to sing', so please grow up and learn about music. Unbelievable live performance, a female that nobody ever has or ever will top. The greatest female to ever grace music, period.

Its no wonder she has aged soooo well! Just look at her in 85 when she was 25 years old, she was down right BEAUTIFUL!!! On top of all that she is one of the greatest talents the world has ever known.

This is one of two performances that Madonna did at The Palace at Auburn Hills in Detroit, Michigan. HBO shot this video during the second performance and broadcast it LIVE to the world! I was lucky enough to be at the show the night before, FRONT ROW...SIX SEATS OFF CENTER. I was so close that I could hear Madonna's voice (acoustically) while she was singing into the microphone. She looked me straight in the eye several times during the performance and it was AWESOME!

@FrameCatcher04 I grant every human being something or someone to believe in, okay. (even though my last post was a bit unfriendly) But you certainly don't have to feel sorry for me, because I believe in something more tangible than the transcendental and I am happy with it. For that reason I don't have to call things a sin just because I don't like them so I have some kind of a reason to hate and deplore it.

@jodelleferlandfan1 If you read my note again you will see that I meant Madonna when I said "this lady". Easy mistake. My bad. Perhaps I should have written "THIS lady" (Madonna) is a musical genius who rules that universe. "shtick" means joke btw As for sexy...Gaga can't pull it off... her heart just isn't in it. Madonna FEELS it. You can see it in her eyes. She taps the animal in us, wrestles it to the floor. We fall in love, then she just walks away singing like an angel.

Lets get right down to it!!! Not only is she the greatest female performer of all time but she is the greatest performer period!!!! I know i know Elvis Presley you might say and yes i am a huge Elvis guy but look at the control He had over his fans, it was in a smaller venue in his prime, same goes for Jim Morrison!! Garth Brooks had a profound impact on his crowds as well but nothing comes close to the POWER Madge hold over her crowd!! Legend among legends!!! It is what it is!!

@TheSummerTwilight dude, your post l most made me cry. And not because i'm such a huge Madonna fan, but simply because I don't think people really understand the concept that music is a moving, breathing thing. It flows throughout time and madonna has had such an influential hand in this movement per the genre of pop it's just incredible.

Madonna couldn't sing at all in the early years, go back and watch Ciao Italia the who's that girl tour, she was awful. She has gotten so much better over the years, this song in particular is hard to sing and she had already done about 5 songs b4 this with no lip synching in this tour so she was already slightly winded.

The music runs through her like electricity in this performance. The newbies have some entertaining schtick (Lady Ga Ga) but when it comes down to raw talent and musical genius, this lady here still rules that universe. Long live the queen.

Before you judge her vocals and wonder why some call this tour "top-knotch" vocally, this DVD was shot during later in the tour. Of course her vocals aren't going to be up to par well into it. Check out her early shows and she rocked all of em.

What makes this performance so incredible is splendidly choreographed frenzy which the viewer perceives as barely containable. So much music for the body to contain it must explode like a nova. And she does.
