Wow. It's probably the first movie I ever watched, and watched it so much. I don't know why it slowly popped back into my head after nearly 35 years, but it did. I remember two quotes from it and tried to search for it, and sure enough, here it was! Re-watching it after 35 years, it's amazing how much I remember vaguely, but also how different it seems after living for 35 years! The cycle is complete. I didn't realize how odd the movie was back when I was watching it as a child, but now I realize. Also, the kisses surprised me a little. Hm...
This one is my favorite of all I can remember eating oranges and apples in front of the tv at 7 watching this it really makes me happy to see this again.

I loved this show back when it first aired, top notch production vales...and of course a star studded cast. I think this series still holds up as a quality show even by today's standards. thanks for sharing this.

I have always had a very faint memory of a jack and the bean stalk story I watched as a very young kid. Then out of nowhere I remembered Shelly Duvall was apart of it. I found this and it was straight nostalgia watching it. Thanks for the video.
First i've known the story of the Jack amd the beam stalks. Now when i saw this movie its fantastic and its wounderful to look at. So this movie became the very best for the kids to look. Movie is a very good show to the kids living in this world. Bravo.
My Mom loved these just as much as my brother and I in the 80s she recorded all of them for us on VHS but they have been lost with time Thank you very much !!
The cast was having fun. Among them we have classic TV housewife Edith Bunker (the great Jean Stapleton, who was the first choice for the Sunday might series Murder, She Wrote),plus Ross and Monica's Dad from Friends (Elliott Gould), and actress Katherine Helmond from Soap. Dennis Christopher is Jack (he was in Breaking Away, and Django Unchained).
This actor is playing the most annoying 12 year old lol and that cow is so funny looking lol. I like how the lady giant was nice to jack... Oh and the giant sounds like Ross from Friends lol so depressed lol
I think Jack and his Mom were really really secretly close. Basically he hits the lottery 4 times, he's a good looking guy, and he has no love interest. He then spends the rest of his life with his mother in a fantasy world away from society..."Oh, oh, oh Jack! Your built just like your father, oh Jack!"
I was always fascinated with this beanstalk as a child - it featured in many of my dreams and nightmares! 🤣 Fun fact: the famous Jerry Hall was the face in the harp.
Our Teacher watches this alot in her kid days, so now we're watching this. Guess she introduced this to us. Thanks Teach! :) By the way, This episode is a fairy tale on steroids!!! Kind of creepy, awkward and raises so many questions none of us don't want to know. But that's just our opinion.
Stephen King's book The Talisman is a similar story. Coincidentally the main character's name is also Jack. Jack goes to a faraway land to retain a magical object that will save his dying mother.
