In this lesson, you will learn that radical expressions can always be written as a fractional exponent. The exponent 1/2 corresponds to square roots, 1/3 corresponds to cube roots, 1/4 corresponds to 4th roots, and so on.
We will discuss why this is the case so that we can use it later for the properties of multiplying and dividing radicals.

I was trying to solve a problem , I couldn't and the textbook gave an answer without explaining. Why is the phenomenon of not explaining things common among math textbooks and so many math teachers. they tell u it's just likee that thank u so much for this explanation

The a-ha moment for me was around 14:10 .. I felt some synapses working their magic in my brain and it started to click. Then it wasn't until I went back to my log equations with bases of radicals raised to more radicals upon radicals that this theory REALLY clicked and I was able to answer log questions with ease. What a great video. I never FULLY understood this concept until now. I definitely need to re-sub to the service for the log functions on my upcoming exams

He is a teacher so dedicated for all of students under his tutelege to learn no less than the book of mathematics can not plainly elaborate. God bless to this kind of person to keep learning at its momentum...He has no equal. I did my learning more than 55 years ago but only from him I found more interesting than those years I had been at school learning the mathematics language.. Thank you very , very much Sir Jason.. You are God sent.

What he’s saying at 11:15 is that you take the factor tree of the base (27j and group the number the denominator of the exponent amount of times (3) and count them the numerator of the exponent amount of times (1) to get 3. Another example is 27^(2/3) 27 /\ 9*3 /\ 9*3 So the factorization of 27=3*3*3. If I group them as triples then the 3s triple (denominator of exponent is 3) and count it twice (numerator of exponent is 2). 3*3=9. So 27^(2/3)=9
