I thought the whole film was beautiful and I like the fact that even though there was a villain in it, Rudolph did not kill her and she was in trouble and Rudolph saved her even though she tried to hurt him and his friends and she became nice in the end, I just love twists like that.
Especially with John "Greatman" Goodman at the helm of voicing Santa Claus himself. By "Greatman", I mean that John Goodman himself is one of the Greatest Actors Ever. Okay?
Yeah, that was at least one thing this got right over the original 1964 special. Where in that one, Santa basically went, "Oh no. You have a red nose, you'll never make the sleigh team."
This is funny but this movie made me make a reindeer fursona and he is a Christmas Town reindeer so in a way when Santa says "I consider everyone in my village, every elf and reindeer, part of my family" I get really uncanny vibes because even though I'm not actually a reindeer of the north pole of course I feel like he's talking directly to a part of me. I still love this song though it gets stuck in my head all the time
A few names for this song: Pacha's Family - The Emperor's New Groove Sulley's Family - Monsters, Inc. Goodman's Family - John Goodman Himself Big Fred's Family - The Flintstones Flintstone's Family - The Flintstones Walter's Family - The Big Lebowski Sobchak's Family - The Big Lebowski Big John's Family - John Goodman Himself Big Hound's Family - Transformers Franchise
@@sammywestenberger9303 Okay. I admit. Those are good choices cause it's John Goodman. But don't forget Little John from a potential/possible/probable Robin Hood 2 from an alternate universe because it's Phil Harris (Baloo from The Jungle Book 1967 and Little John from Robin Hood 1973). But not Thomas O'Malley from The Aristocats 1970 because Phil Harris looks and feels more like a Bear than a Cat. Those are the Way. I have Spoken
This Santa is much nicer than the 1964 Rankin/Bass TV special. He supported Rudolph instead of tearing him down. And this Santa became my favorite as well!
I consider everyone In my village Every elf and reindeer Part of my family So listen up And I'll fill your cup With hope and harmony Do-do do-do do-do Do do-do do-do Do do-do do-do Do do-do do-do Everybody's a somebody In Santa's family tree Everyone has a place In my extended family Oh, shapes and sizes, or special prizes You'll always have a home You're never be alone You're never be alone In Santa's family Do-do do-do do-do Do do-do do-do Do do-do do-do Do do-do do-do Everybody's a somebody In Santa's family tree Everyone is a someone In my extended family So don't look so glum my little reindeer chum Everybody counts In small and great amounts In small and great amounts In Santa's family It takes more than muscle to pull a sleigh You gotta rustle up a bit of courage, pup Put your nose to the grindstone And apply A little faith it takes To make a reindeer fly And lift my sleigh up to the sky And I know one day you'll do it If you put your mind to it Everybody's a somebody In Santa's family tree Everyone has a spot In my extended family Here's the secret potion It takes devotion You have it in your heart You've got a great head start And that makes you a part Of my extended family tree Consider yourself Consider yourself In Santa's family Do-do do-do do-do Do do-do do-do Do do-do do-do Do do-do do-do
If Rankin/Bass had actually made this movie, I bet they would have cast Mickey Rooney as Santa once again and he would have been perfect for this song! ^_^
John Goodman Santa is better than Rankin/Bass Santa ...... except for the time when he was Santa in the terrible Live Action version of The Year Without A Santa Claus
Yep I agree he sounds like James P Sullivan and he is voiced by John Goodman Thanks John Goodman for voicing Santa Claus from Rudolph 1998 and also voicing Sulley from Monsters Inc and Monsters University and also Monsters At Work
