I was a CSS aspirant but when I started to read and research to prepare for the exams, I changed my mind, because I know that I won't have power to change this system, I would either go mad or corrupt in the end. So, I chosed to remain in a profession where at least I could change some minds, the only solution of this pathetic situation is to first, make people aware of it, rest comes later. Few days back at literary festival on topic of political structure of pakistan, I put across my question on how can we move towards full democratic state from the hybrid regime state, where I was answered that on ground level the political culture needs to be changed. Now, regardless of the power manipulation at the top of the pyramid by the establishment, there requires an equal efforts on our side to change the political culture by getting politically awared at maximum of the matters around ourselves so that the individual vote casting must be more meaningful than a mere formality. Afghanistan & kashmir are two bogeyman that are used to usurp power. There is no solution to these conflicts as these are gravy trains for some sacred cows. Meanwhile, due to these festering issues and the defence expenditures associated with them our economy has tanked. No country can survive without trading with its neighbours. 3/4 neighbours have a strained relationship with Pakistan. With a weak economy, the power differential between Pakistan and its Eastern neighbour has increased. Had our economy 3x the present size & linked with india, modi would have thought twice about annexing kashmir. If Generals can employ Indians at their pizza company, why can't Pakistani businessmen interact with Indian counterparts

Army is involved in all tenantories and all retired people from other institutes are connected directly or indirectly in having the relevant business. This should be stopped at all.

A thorough analytical look into the prevailing 'Establishment' existing in our system of governance. Aashir Bro The problem is that the civilian government has its own laws/policies etc, while the Military/Army has its own. So, the two are in a continuous struggle to wield their authority. At the end the Army wins, because it has been 'allowed' to do so since 1956. A 'Militarised Democracy' is what controls and runs Pakistan. As a common civilian I refuse to look at this bigger picture, and am happy and content with what Pakistan has to offer for a more or less comfortable and simple life. Solving such a labyrinthine issue of a better democratic Establishment is beyond our powers. Do you honestly believe that the Army will agree to going back to their barracks and borders? I doubt it. Power never concedes. Establishment/Army has to be forcefully removed with the current structure, and execute punishments prescribed in the constitution to set a precedent. That is the only way.

The voter is not educated or independent enough to think that way and be part of that filtration process. Most people in Pakistan don't know that DHA and many companies run by Army are registered as non-profit public entities and they pay Zero taxes. Just imagine that if DHA will start paying taxes then we can earn 100s of billions of rupees as DHA's empire is worth more than 100 Billion US Dollars right now. But unfortunatley we cannot change much in Pakistan.
