A wide variety of weapons can be simulated within the SCA rules set. Note that these rules can vary slightly based upon location. In Australia, if the weapon can be constructed within the rules linked below, and is deemed safe for use, then yes, it is allowed. It would be wise to discuss the form and construction of the weapon in detail with your local Marshal who is the officer who deals with such things. Overly massive/heavy construction is likely to be deemed unsafe.
