I just noticed that in the last panel of the strip, Jon's pants are black instead of blue, and in the real life, they slowly turn his pants into black so they can match. The amount of detail in these videos are incredible.
If only it were just that… a story is told, not about how funny Jim Davis is (or isn’t), but how futile it must feel. Your own created nemesis, mutated by years of dull repetition, is destined to outlive you. It mocks you.
Wrong, in the game (FFVI) when a special and temporary character joins your party you can't access his skills or his equipement... too bad everyone's getting this joke the wrongway.
If it meant to say Jim Davis has no skills, it would have opened to an empty menu. The fact that the menu doesn't open at all suggests that he's a Mimic.
The dedication is unreal to the joke at the end, by having the detail that FF6 only allowed 6 letters for names, so 'Garfield' and 'Lasagna' have to be shortened to fit. Just admirable.
I just cannot get over how good that FF6 fight is. As it's my favorite game ever, I've played hundreds if not thousands of hours of it in the near 30 years since I played it the first time, and that fight is excruciatingly close to an actual FF6 battle. Even the way the battle sprites move at slightly different times when Merton (which should be Meltdown, but it was mis-translated originally) hits them is accurate. Whoever did the editing for that fight must really love FF6. I appreciate it.
In FF6 there are are a lot of characters, all of them with unique moves, this moves are marked as skills, here you can manage the Magic, Dance, Swrdtech etc.. But there are 2 characters whose skills cannot be seen out of the battle, making that blurry effect when you select the option "Skills"
Gaigaxz omega Beacuse Jim Davis comic strip are unfunny and Lasagna Cat tries to explain this jokes by making over the top and ridiculous tributes that are actually funny, that's why it says that Jim Davis has no skill
As the certified Garfield collector (you can fact check that) This channel wasn’t ahead of it’s time, nor late of it’s time. Garfield is a religion in which we praise, we don’t call The Bible ahead of it’s time for Christianity, it’s a tool of religion, similar How lasagna cat was a tool to be worshipped, to give shape to Garfield.
Subtle jokes I love: -The characters appear as "GARFLD" and "LASANA" because you only get 6 letters to name a character -Garfield's magic spells include "cat", "funny", and "Bolt 2" -Lasana's abilities include "Meat" and "Veggie" -Lasana's spells include "pan", "Italy", and "Merton" -The field music indicates Garfield lives in the World of Ruin -Davis is level 99 but has a max of 18 HP and 7 MP -Davis' skills menu can't be accessed because he has no skills
It's because the US version of FF6 could only have 6 letter names. I just found this video, and it's mesmerizing how good that entire end sequence is compared to an actual FF6 fight. Whoever did it either loves FF6, or has an extreme attention to detail, or both.
SupaPhly Type "FF4 fight/battle/encounter battle theme" and you'll find that exact same music, make sure to click on the right video because if you click on the theme of a boss battle, you won't get the correct music. Also I know my shit, I'm right don't deny it.
I don't get recommended this but I make it a point to come back to this video. This is actually what introduced me to FFVI weird enough, and that godly work of art called 'searching for friends'
It was this very video that 15 years ago inspired me to pick up and try FFVI for the first time, thus beginning my love affair with the whole FF series. This video. This one. This video produced with the sole intention of throwing shade at Jim Davis.
@@Gonzas97 Absolutely phenomenal. I’m 37 and can’t believe I went this far in my life without playing it and not seeing any spoilers for the game. I just got off the Floating Continent, so at a pretty pivotal moment of the game right now, but honestly they make every moment seem special and that’s just awesome.
Everybody just arriving here from recommendations should know, I first saw this 7 years ago and it still stands the test of time as the best RU-vid video ever. Lol my old comment is still there.
The music at the end is the theme of the ruined world. It's post-apocalyptic melancholy, but the percussive part suggests that there's still a glimmer of hope.
I remember when these vids first got posted and I still come back periodically to watch them again. They're brilliant. I will weep with joy when this hits 1 mil views.
Reminder that the guys who made these also made the Old Spice commercials (with Terry Crews) and many other fun commercials and stuff. Recommend checking their website.
god dammit ive watched this 5 times in the last 24 hours and i can't get enough. I've not laughed so hard in a long long time. I used to skip school in high school just to play this final fantasy, so it makes it all the more perfect to me
Basically Lasagna Cat is just a series that makes fun of Garfield and it’s creator Jim Davis and a lot of other stuff, watch the rest of the videos it’ll make more sense.
Fucking amazing. As if the live-action renditions of the comic strips weren't funny enough, that Final Fantasy parody was unbelievable. It's videos like this that make me wish I could award a 6-star rating.
