I totally admire this concept of a Finnish band with a russian name conquering the US mid or total west. Like Kusturica´s work (and band) it goes to prove that real culture is way between the lines and cracks in the palate… So bloody original, even if it was borne 20 or 25 year ago! Whereas Those Where the Days video is a total must... with a Portuguese donkey brought into a French bistro to the sound of a Russian gypsy ballade. The world music is way to go, and cooler than bealtes or stones that I cherish so much...
My new favorite band! I am of Finnish extraction, and happened across The Total Balalaika Show on Turner Movie Classics. After a few songs, including covers of Tom Jones's "Delilah", "Knockin' on Heaven's Door and "Sweet Home Alabama", I was hooked!
tuba for the win. Tuba solo! Hehehe For some particular reason (which I KNOW why) that means in Finnish the sounds of the Big One coming out loud in the relief room - which is 'so' hard to figure out, I guess :)
Or even Finnish American - American relations, for that matter. As a member of the former, I often feel like an alien in the latter, even though my family's been here for generations.
apparently he KNOWS them. It remains unclear whether he understands them. As kids, we could sing along to quite number of rocksongs without any clue what the lyrics actually meant.
no one wore stupid hair like this in the 1980s. would have been better if this was made by an american producer and that is digging at the bottom of the barrel
