@@autodriveforce0450 thing is that my steering wheel is fine. The wheel doesn't shake or nothing is just makes that sound when i steer left so you think it's my pump
@@autodriveforce0450 oh wow thanks a lot. Question can you purchase the steering pump thru amazon wanna make sure and it's crazy how it's electric I'm use to the old way with the power steering fluid an reservoir
NEED SOME HELP!!!! Hi. I have a toyota corolla 2012 with 415000 KMS with electric steering. Recently the steering got locked while turning right for few seconds on the highway. Then after two weeks samething happened while turning right and thn again in parking fully turned right and the car felt like stalling and lights got dim. Mechanic told me its the alternator and i have already changed the alternator and belt but the steering got stuck again while parking. The volatge is proper both on battery and alternator. I have shown it to few mechanics but all of them said they cant say anything unless its gets stuck in front of them but it only gets stuck intermediately. According to my search it could be steering column or rack and pinion and there are chances of malfunctioning steering lock aswell. Please advice accordingly. I dont know if its a coincidence that it always gets stuck while turning right. Thanks
for me that whining meant that my power steering pump was going out I know this because before selling the car I was driving and it fully went out and when I turned that sound didn't happen
@@autodriveforce0450 thanks, I'm on the right track then. It finally broke, it got to the point where the steering wheel turns but it just skips teeth on the rack & pinion gears.
thanks for the visuals mine wines and I'm wondering if it's the pump if so do you think that's a big fix I seen the part was like a hundred bucks and I'm wondering if I can do it myself if not at 184,000 Miles I think I might just sell this vehicle the AC is also broken there's a scuff on the windshield and I need new tires F all this
@@theljway3763 no what I did to fix it was posted on Craigslist and sell it but I did find out that the whining was just a precursor to the power steering going out one day it just went out and the whining stopped because there was no power steering so your power steering is about to go out not that you need power steering fluid, the power steering pump itself is about to go out and you're going to lose steering power and when it does that sounds going to go away to verify that that's what's happening thank you for asking again so maybe someone will read this and realize that's what's happening
@@letsgogloballlc4084 think I’m going to just purchase another pump and hopefully that fixes it so I can get a lot more miles out of it. It’s only at 130k miles so hopefully a replacement pump will fix everything before it goes out. Thank you
@@theljway3763 hey if it's anything like mine that'll do the trick my lesson until $180,000 mi and then the motor didn't blow the radiator went out but with that many miles I wasn't about to fix the radiator I have a feeling that your car is going to last a long time make some great memories make good decisions and spread love & peace my man! also get at least one long distance trip in that thing they are a beast on the road
@@letsgogloballlc4084 oh I already have I’ve drove it all the way to California to Kentucky when I joined the military to the Grand Canyon back to Kentucky. Had it for 5 years now. Love it and not ready for it to go out on me
