I laughed at Will's comment, in which he said, "There is no one in LA that's a Detroit fan." I'm a 24-year-old Detroit Lions fan from Los Angeles, born and raised. I have been rooting for this team since I was 10 when Suh, Stafford, and Megatron played for the team. I always get asked how I became a fan and if I have family in the Midwest. My response is "no," I'm a Hispanic male with no ties to the Mid-West, and my family and I are Detroit Lions fans. Starting with my dad rooting for them during the infamous 0-16 season, to the Schartz, Caldwell, the terrible Quinn-Tricia era, to seeing them play at Sofi this past season, the successful playoff run, and from being 30 minutes away from reaching their first Super Bowl appearance in franchise history. It's been one rollercoaster ride with this team, but I wouldn't want to root for any other team. Go Lions! #onepride

Im so happy for Jared! As a 45 year plus Lions fan Jared is Awesome. I bought season tickets to Ford field for the first time after Brad, Dan and Jared were hired. I was there when we won against the Vikings in 21. I was there when we kept the packers in Lambeu out of the playoffs in 22 season. I was the in KC for the first game of 23 season… I’m going into 2024 season excited as a season ticket holder. GO LIONS!!!!

I'm a lifelong Lions fan, even when the Lions had winning seasons in the past it always felt like we barely got it done. Needing crazy plays never having sustainable drives. After that 8-2 push to end the 2022 season I said this team is different. You guys were so much fun to watch and it felt like for the first time we had created something sustainable and something of our own. Not trying to rip off another teams way of doing things. I decided for the first time to buy a season ticket. I went to every home game by myself and flew to Tampa to see the regular season away game with my Dad for his birthday. I also went to both home playoff games. I'm 38 and Thanks in big part to JG I had by far not even close the best season ever as a Lions fan. I renewed my ticket and will again be attending every home game solo this season. Not going to lie it's almost been therapeutic. So many emotions it's hard to put into words but I just wanted to say thank you and I can't wait for the coming season. Good Luck Go Lions!!!

I just love the way that he has shut the naysayers up… Never have I had any problem with him being traded here, and I’m glad that we have him. Poise, humility and leadership for starters. Also other intangibles. But my number one thing is that he’s a Libra like me. In fact, his birthday is the day before mine although I’m 22 years his senior. Also I have two boy’s and my youngest son’s name is, Quincy…. And I found out his dogs name in his Ford commercial.😂 As a diehard Lions fan, I’m so proud of the ownership, front office, coaching staff and our players. I agree with JG 100%, the sports media in Detroit sucks and all they know how to do is be negative no matter what our team's are doing. I know that Josh Reynolds left the Lions because of the appalling way the media and fans treated him for having a bad game during the NFC Championship. I only hope that this doesn't affect Jerods decision to stay here in Detroit and sign a new contract. The fans Real fans love our team and protect our players. P.S. His dog is a ham! When you think about an awesome franchise, with players, coaches and front office personnel, who are as cool as they are talented, the Lions seem to be doing everything right. Dan Campbell and AG and Ben Johnson, on the coaching side. Jared, Amon-Ra, Penei, Hutch and so many others on the player side. Holmes, Speilman and Shelia in the front office and ownership. I've followed Detroit sports all my life, and I don't remember loving and believing in a sports franchise like this.

I would listen to a three hour podcast with JG talking about arm soreness and clock management.

Born and raised in MI and a complete Detroit Fan. I live in CA now, but love Goff in Detroit. Such a perfect fit for a city and fan base that needed a hardship, sold off QB to be a HERO! It takes a certain human to win over Detroit. Stafford never really won over the city. Just didnt have the character. I can speak for the underground local opinions. When we got Goff for Stafford, there was a lot of anticipation and excitement. So happy to see Jared's success for not just himself and the team, but for all of Detroit and Michigan. One thing about pro sports in Detroit is that the arenas/stadiums are within walking distance from each other. You can see a day game at Comerica, then walk over to see the Red Wings or Pistons, or a concert.

The media negativity is just because that's how we've coped with heartbreak after heartbreak in Detroit. I love that you're calling it out - you are one of the primary reasons we can actually start looking forward to our team every Sunday. And like you said, Detroit represents ALL of Michigan - it's an amazing city yet is always overlooked and shamed from others around the country. When Detroit hurts, Michigan hurts. When Detroit is succeeding, Michigan is succeeding. We always assumed in the past that the worst possible outcome will happen as it so often has for us. It was how we coped. It hurts to have hope only to see it crushed repeatedly, every single time, over and over and over. So you lessen the impact by never getting your hopes up in the first place. You find a way to love your team despite their shortcomings, so you accept that failure is what will happen and move on to other things to love about the team. It was all we could do to stay in love with our local team. So when you and the rest of our talented team beat the Rams 24-23, that was like the biggest weight lifted off our shoulders. Like... wait, it doesn't have to end in heartbreak??? This is a possible outcome????? It was genuinely surreal. But it's not just the on-field success. It's how proud we all are of how the organization carries itself, how much respect is given to the players who are the blood and soul of the team, how much the community matters to every member of the Lions. We've never been so proud to be Lions fans. You're the best and I hope like all hell you're a Lion for the rest of your career. I don't care what anybody else around the League says about you. You're good enough for Detroit, Jared Goff.

Goff was sent here to Detroit to die and his career was on a downhill spiral but he proved people wrong that he can still be a starter in this league and really revitalized his career.

He could have thrown the biggest tempertantrum after he got sent to the lions...and as a life long lions fan...we all knew what that was. It was a death sentence for his career. Insted he put his head down and helped build our franchise into something we have never experienced (at least in modern football). I'm proud to call him my quarterback. And I hope he finishes his career here.

I may be the minority here but I’d actually rather have a rookie JG than Stafford if it were possible. I just feel he’s the smarter QB. Stafford may have the stronger arm but the plays JG has to manage has impressed me to the point I wouldn’t want any other QB. Go Lions!

A VERY important thing Goff brings up is independance. People put all the woes of the rams on his shoulders but McVay had a iron grip on a rookie qb and didnt give him any free reign to manage the offence. You can even find clips of stafford listening to the offence call outs on palys that are like listening to nuclear engineering equations and he goes "na na na well just do this". Stafford was a vet and not worries about calling his own play but Goff never had the opportunity to do that. Im not saying its on McVay but its pretty clear that he was in a win now my way phase and thats not good to develope rookie QBs
