He has deep isight of Indian culture.Very inspiring and eye opener.He is very soft spoken and precise.I also thank the other speaker who pointed out and exposed , the "hypocrisy" of Bollywood people who give interview in English.I am sure during French or Spanish film festivals they do not English at all on the stage or during interview.Are his books available on Amazon ?

We think we are educated but not learning about our religion, basic reasons of existence and cultural, social and economic history of our Hindu civilization, struggles of people and our great nation and other aspects of Bharat, no one can be really educated. And only the ethnic literary personalities and untwisted literature based on truth and facts incidents can enlighten us. Yes, we are a 'Dharma sapex' desh and we do expect our religion to show us the correct path and it has. We never attacked any nation, any community and nationality. World knows, we have always been patient, great hosts and suffered for our kindness. I wish this word secularism in chucked out of our constitution and minds of people.
He is a true jewel of india...he needs to speak more at national level and need to be given more coverage in prime time.... Today's students and leaders need to listen and understand him more....

Makarandji, thought matters not the language, how nicely u have put all things in perspective.The western nations have projected an image that only they have brought in culture, before them all the others were barberic, a very great misconception, our ancient culture is proof of this
The fundamental issue is that secularism was needed in the West because Christianity was an exclusionary ideology. One has to accept Jesus as savior or else they'll burn in hell. And church had control over state. Because of these two issues, church needed to be separated from the state to accommodate citizens of other faiths and non-believers. This issue is N/A in Hinduism. You can be an atheist or believer of any god and call yourself a Hindu. They're perfectly compatible. No Hindu temple of foundation or Shankaracharya hold control over the state. So there is no need or relevance of Western style secularism in Indian society.

It is good to know that we have professors in JNU. Normally when we hear JNU, a fear creep to grip us. If you can present more of such JNU professors probably we can change our perception of the University. We have seen ferocious JNU professors in Television debate and so this change is heartening.
