VN24 - 09.12.2021 - Bergkamen / Germany - To race bluntly into a huge brightly lit warning sign (traffic control trailer) on the highway is already a high art. Several warning signs pointed out the danger zone on the left of three lanes of the A2. The heavy vehicle with the trailer on which this folding warning sign with the big arrow is mounted was supposed to protect workers from approaching vehicles. And that's exactly what it did. A passenger car crashed into the illuminated arrow at full speed, pushing the trailer under the rear axle of the truck. The driver went to the hospital. A salvage company had to lift the truck to recover the wedged trailer. Because the large batteries in the trailer that feed the lighting system were not secured, or at least disconnected, a fire still occurred on the trailer during the recovery work. Employees of the towing service first had to de-energize the system and secure the batteries. Also the truck had to be towed away, since there was a not insignificant damage at the rear axle.
